From Cheryl and Irby. Austin - Oasis on Lake Travis. Last Friday, we enjoyed a long awaited evening with friends at the Oasis Lake Travis! Weeks ago, Charlie and Mary Johnson, minister of music friends formerly from Nacogdoches, invited the Elliotts and us to come to Austin and go to the Oasis. What a beautiful place and fabulous view! The Eggmen, a great band who plays Beatles tunes were featured. We danced, sang, and were entertained by several people who thought they were gifted dancers!

From Cheryl and Irby. I woke up to the doorbell ringing the Saturday before Mother's Day! It wasn't early, and you know, teacher's like to sleep late on Saturday.at least this teacher does! Irby was awake and I heard him answer the door and start walking towards our room. He came in with a lovely bouquet of flowers. I sat up and was admiring the flowers, opened the card to find the following:. We'd even asked just the day before, so we were TOTALLY surprised when the card read, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, GIGI!

Saturday, October 25, 2008. Spending a Day With Carson and Cameron. It was a wonderful day as I watched Carson play T-Ball! He is quite a little player. As he informed me he hit 2 homeruns! My best friend, Cheryl, and I made a flying trip to the new Circuit City in Mansfield last week to see our favorite Dallas Cowboy, Jason Witten. We thought we would get him to sign our shirts- HAHA! The line was blocks long so we were satisfied to just get close enough for a picture. Well, my wonderfull nieces decided I needed to give some teacher ideas in my blog. Wow! Talk to your children! Danny and I had taken a group of youth from 1st Baptist Troup to Glorietta NM. As we drove through Dallas on Saturday and passed those famous red brick buildings of Buckner Family Services, I turned to a friend and adoptive mom and said, "I wish they would call next week to tell us that our baby was born! Danny received the call the very next Monday telling us the wonderful news!
