Monday, 31 January 2011. Saturday dawned crisp and clear, and remained so for the day. The ascent to Fairfiled was from Rydal, a steep climb with commanding views of the Lakeland Fells. Just patches of snow on the Northern face although Helvellyn had still quite covering from our summit viewpoint.
