In the UK, sanitary ware is taxed at 5% and deemed a 'non-essential, luxury' item. Unable to buy food or shelter, a woman on the street is forced to go without these basic 'luxuries'. Women For Women is a proposed non-for-profit charitable scheme that allows women to gift-aid their sanitary-ware purchases, so that major sanitary brands can claim tax back to fund the donation of sanitary-ware to homeless women, distributing dignity and care.
