Tuesday, January 17, 2012. What to do with a thrifted picture frame, #1 - Embellish! How I love thee. So after getting the Winter Issue of Create with Me. Magazine, I was inspired to do my own version of the room plaques in the "A Room of My Own" article by Lori Oles. In the article, Oles does the artwork with. Here's what I came up with (sorry, no step-by-step photos.I'm working on that):. Yeah, the picture stinks.I took it with my phone to post on Facebook. But you get the idea, right! I have a bag of ...

Thursday, September 1, 2011. New tutorials coming soon. So, I bought a "bag of rags" (unsold/stained t-shirts) for $4 from the Pennywise Resale Center in Richmond not too long ago. I was thinking that for $4 I'd get a grocery bag full of old T's, so I bought two. After paying for them, the ladies haul out two *GARBAGE* bags full of T's. Yikes! That's a lot of T-shirts! Packaging (and yet another one). And I still had a PILE of shirts leftover. Now what? A whole bunch of tutorials. At Cut Out and Keep.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012. What to do with a thrifted frame, #2 - Antique Gold. I'm digging anything with either the "gilded" or "antique gold" look or stuff that's old and busted. So here's my take on how to made a thrifted frame do both. Work already in progress.sorry. Wooden or plastic frame.plain or ornate. Fine grit sandpaper (I used 320). Acrylic paint in dark brown and "vintage" gold. Plastic cup with water (for dunking brushes between coats). Apply the gold paint. Let the paint dry. Yep, this tim...

Crafty Mama: Finger Prints
http://www.craftymamablog.com/2013/10/finger-prints.html
Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Jack was working away at his homework and Dais was looking for something to do with us at the table. I grabbed the extra large popsicle sticks that have been lingering in the craft drawer from this. Project, along with the stamp pad, and Dais got to work stamping her fingerprint on each one. I love how Daisy does everything with all her might and passion, even stamping her fingerprint on a stick of wood. Prevent the wood from splitting. Sadly there were a few casualties. Subscr...

A New Ambitious Endeavor. Blog Hiatus and a Tote Bag →. January 27, 2011 · 7:24 pm. Getting to know you…. Are introductions really necessary on one’s blog? My first projects were a few burp cloths and some bibs, a diaper changing pad, and a stuffed rattle. Burp cloths and elephant rattle for Ethan. Burp Cloths for Baby Amelia. Pocketed bibs to match the burp cloths. I’d love any input on my projects, especially since I am so new to all of this. If there is a better way to do something, or if an...You are...

Making Motherhood Manageable Through Hobby, Habit and Humour. Today’s Fascination: Folk Art. Wonderful Wednesday →. There is something about a double broiler…specifically an all metal one passed down from my mother…that reminds me of my childhood. What to do with semi milk chocolate cubes close to expiration and a bag of pretzels? Combine them of course! The essentials: fork for dipping pretzels, wax paper lined cookie sheet, wine for sipping. Small metal tongs would have been much much better. You are c...
