Killer story, perfect job by Costner, bad movie, I liked it a lot. Go figure. Macfarland is a small California town that dominated in cross-country under the tutelage of a former football coach who figured out how to coach running on his own. I’m only marginally interested in the reality of it all, I just lapped up the story with Gail, her mom, and my bro-in-law on a cold winter Saturday at the Lake Theatre in Oak Park. Movies with choreographed violence prompt a guilt response in me. I think they’re cool and enjoyable, but feel that I shouldn’t partake. I do have a tendency to over-indulge at times. This is one of those movies, it got some good reviews and I’ve found myself needing escapism recently. This can’t be good for humanity, or my brain, but neither is sugar. Downton Abbey – Season Five. The story was still pretty solid and I think I can speak for both of us that we were adequately engrossed, never bored. But if I had a nickel for every time we uttered “Mr. Selfridge is so much better, when does that start? 8221; I’d probably be able to afford to skip work this afternoon.
