A vet's tale: Awards Ceremony
http://vetstale.blogspot.com/2010/05/awards-ceremony.html
Thursday, May 13, 2010. Last night was our vet school awards banquet, which is a really nice banquet followed by an awards ceremony that lasts almost 2 hours! Over $250,000 in scholarships are given out to students of the vet school, and awards are often made in honor of beloved deceased pets, as well as proficiency awards given for academic excellence and proficiency in the clinical studies species categories such as "Swine proficiciency" , "wildlife/exotics proficincey", "feline proficiency" and so on.

Life on the Edge: P is still for Procrastination
http://runningkt.blogspot.com/2011/07/p-is-still-for-procrastination.html
Life on the Edge. Wednesday, July 06, 2011. P is still for Procrastination. I thought it was somewhat funny (in a sadnotreallyfunny) sort of way.my last post was about my issues with staying on task with studying, and several months later.still! I am writing this blog post, with a GIGANTOUS pathophysiology book in front of me. Alterations of Thyroid Function does not apparently hold my attention. I wonder if thats a disorder listed in the book? Sorry That was geeky. So kids, what's new? I'm sure there ar...

Naptime Musings
http://naptimemusings.blogspot.com/2012/02/well-well.html
Monday, February 13, 2012. Well, well. hello again. I've been missing this old blog a little bit so I thought maybe I'd post an update or two. We've been busy making Valentine's goodies around here, mostly thanks to ideas from Pinterest. Too many ideas, probably, because by the time we finished everything I was sick of making little Valentine's treats! First, we made little Pretzel Buttons. Which we then wrapped up and delivered to our neighbors. Lastly, we made chocolate dipped Oreos. Subscribe to: Post...

Naptime Musings
http://naptimemusings.blogspot.com/2011/10/i-have-recently-made-three-new-cooking.html
Tuesday, October 18, 2011. I have recently made three new cooking discoveries about which I am feeling kind of excited. It's very likely that no one else will be as excited as me about these things, but nevertheless, here they are:. 1 Steve sometimes eats breakfast, but sometimes not, usually because he is in a hurry to get to work and doesn't have much time. I saw a really great way to make breakfast sandwiches. We had to throw those donuts away, and I was starting to regret my donut pan purchase. 3 The...

Naptime Musings
http://naptimemusings.blogspot.com/2012/03/oh-man.html
Monday, March 19, 2012. When Jose, our old dog, was alive, I would sometimes tell myself that we wouldn't get another dog after he died. No one to remember to take outside, no one to remember to feed, no one to worry about when we go on vacation, no one peeing in our house when he's home all alone during thunderstorms.nice, right? In spite of all that, Steve was thinking that we should. Reasonable side was telling the reasonable side to shut up. And then after telling it to shut up, it beat it into s...

http://naptimemusings.blogspot.com/2012/02/just-over-ten-years-ago-back-before-we.html
Sunday, February 26, 2012. We named him Jose, and soon pretty much our entire lives revolved around that little dog. We were absolutely enamored with him. I have an entire scrapbook from that time that consists mostly of pictures of Jose, adorned with little paw print stamps and bone-shaped paper punches. Probably my favorite thing about him, and I know I've written about this on here before. That was a lovely tribute to your friend. I know how hard it is. I will miss Jose! Sending hugs your way. Sorry t...

A vet's tale: August 2009
http://vetstale.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 30, 2009. I guess I haven' t posted for a few days so I should probably put up the answer to the Merck Monday question: The answer is Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus! This is a disease process that large breed dogs get sometimes when their stomach fills up with air and twists on its own axis. By doing so, it also cuts off its own blood supply and then parts of the stomach and spleen (the spleen may rotate out of position as well) can start to die off! My favorite thing by far three days in...

A vet's tale: Tiger Lullaby
http://vetstale.blogspot.com/2010/05/tiger-lullaby.html
Thursday, May 20, 2010. To start off I'd like to say that this photo reminds me of the scene in Jurassic Park where you just see the T-rex'es eye ball blinking before all heck breaks loose. With that in mind, I'm going to sing you the lullaby I sing my little miniature tiger before her bedtime. It's an adaptation of the song from the movie, "The Hangover", and goes a bit like this:. What do tigers dream of. When they take a little tiger snooze. Do they dream of mauling Gator. Chick in the Czech.

Monday, June 28, 2010. Famous last words of two pre-vets. Here is my favorite quote from vet school graduation:. Vet school Dean: welcome to the 61st annual College of Vet Med Convocation! Me (whispered to Lindsey): did he just say ,"complication"? Lindsey: I don't know but it sure was complicated! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Analog: Sugar and Cloth color wall.
