There were 15 – 20 follicles in each ovary (many only around 8-9mm but still) with the largest being 14mm. RE says we’ll most likely trigger this Saturday and retrieve Monday. 8230;except I quit smoking. August 17, 2015. We were scheduled to trigger yesterday but at my final U/S, my RE decided I should so one more day of Gonal/Menopur/Cetrotide. Even though I had 3-4 follicles that were at least 18mm, the majority (approximately 18-20 follicles) were only 16-17mm. That said, we triggered at 9 pm tonight and will retrieve at 7:30 Tuesday morning! Ice the area for 20 minutes. (For my 9pm shot, I held a ziploc with about 5 cubes directly on the injection site.). I don’t know why, but even after the Hyperstimulation news, I’ve been preparing myself for the worst. I’m pleased to report that at our egg retrieval this morning, 51 EGGS were retrieved! When I am told not to eat/drink after midnight, I hear, “Eat/DRINK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE up until 11:59p.”. And I hate the feeling of thirst, so I must have had a liter of liquid up until midnight. I didn’t sleep well either due to a belly full of undigested noodles, dreams about vacationing in a haunted mansion, and three visits to the bathroom. He emerges from the bathroom, refolding the top of the paper bag.

I cannot understand the reasoning behind it other than it saves the embryologist and nurses time which saves the clinic money.
