Good Taste-Good Tasting: February 2011
http://goodtastegoodtasting.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
As I was cleaning up dishes this morning, my mind wandered to a ragged old pot that belonged to my grandmother. Its blue, from Sears and has seen better days, as have the two other pieces from the set that was purchased in 1972. I wondered whether I should keep it. It was part of an "out with the old" remodel of a red 1950s kitchen that my grandparents did when I was very little. I have wonderful memories of that kitchen and the delicious smells that lived there. So I keep the worn and the beautiful alike.

Good Taste-Good Tasting: July 2011

How many circles can you find? Antique coffee grinder lamp. This isn't exactly about an "I Spy" for circular shapes just about a theme, unintentional at first, that I have incorporated in my family room. It seems that there are circles everywhere. This view says it all to me. You see the 2 year-old who must be considered in every decorating decision in this room. Notice the empty table tops? Notice the kinda ugly coffee table? In this view you see the drapes hung, finally! Problem #1: They are significan...

Good Taste-Good Tasting: May 2011
http://goodtastegoodtasting.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
As I recently took a look around my family room, I thought it had, or was about to have too much texture. The orange beast was reincarnated in a lovely, warm gray. To that was added my kid proof rustic table and accessories. Soon to come are bamboo shades and drapes. In this Robert Allen fabric on four windows behind the sofa. I have Kirsch wrought iron rods for them. Hmm, rustic-y. There are two medium tone wood dressers and an antique wood milking chair in the room. On Etsy. Yay! Links to this post.

Good Taste-Good Tasting: Slowly but surely
http://goodtastegoodtasting.blogspot.com/2011/10/slowly-but-surely.html
Bit by bit, things are coming together. My dining room is mostly back together. The curtains are back and a few pictures hung. There will be more on this wall. When I hung the mirror, the first time, the old and brittle wire snapped. It hit the chair rail knocking a hunk out and gouged the wall. Luckily I was standing there and caught it before it hit the floor and shattered entirely. The wall had to be painted a fifth time! I was thrilled that my pillows arrived for the family room and. The room is look...

My early morning blog reading lead me to these charming bamboo tables. On the Etsy shop Tweaked Home. I might have to have these. But I try not to shop before 7 am. At $15, this tray. Needs to be revisited after coffee. I don't know where I would use something like this chair. But it reminds me of a vintage Lilly Pulitzer dress and of Summer that has sadly slipped away. Good Taste-Good Tasting: Reality
http://goodtastegoodtasting.blogspot.com/2011/10/reality.html
For design junkies like me, the drive to have a magazine perfect home is is a constant. Last week I was exhausted and feeling a bit sick. The dining room was painted but not reassembled and the adjoining living room was supposed to be emptied. Laundry piled up, dinner was ignored, and I did not vaccum everyday- horrors! Over the weekend I felt a little better and decided not to do most of what was undone as just a check with myself about priorities. My loquacious two-year old often asks, "Are you happy?

Good Taste-Good Tasting: Friday finds
http://goodtastegoodtasting.blogspot.com/2011/10/friday-finds.html
It is no secret that I have a passion for collecting art. I love art of all kinds and I am looking to round out a staircase gallery wall and add a little zing to my traditional living room. I just love the piece above and I almost bought it but I had committed to the one below and I've been getting a little crazy in the budget department. It is painted on glass- so cool. I just bought this one for a small space in my living room. Check out these faves of mine from Etsy. October 11, 2011 at 5:36 PM. I am ...
