Yet another distraction to my life. The ponderings of a graduate traveller. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Dinner, A Missing Child, and Farewell Speeches. Having not ever been part of any ladies sports teams (or any sports teams for that matter), the high-rising oestrogen level at the dinner table tonight was beyond that that I've previously experienced. The concept of graduation for kindergarten might seem farcical to we who don't even celebrate the end of high school, but that didn't stop the notion that the children I've been playing with day -in-day-out for the last year are off. Yet another distraction to my life. The ponderings of a graduate traveller. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. The streets of Myeongdong are arguably one big fashion store. Clothes, shoes and accessories are on sale at cheap-cheap prices without having to step foot in a shop. But - and I've griped about this before - where are the size labels? Where are the dressing rooms? How do you know what you're buying is going to look as good on you as it does on the hanger? Bring on Forever 21. We were not disappointed.

An Essex Girl's Korean Adventure. My year teaching English in Seoul. Monday, 5 May 2008. We fancied a break from Seoul, so hopped on the super fast KTX train and 2 1/2 hours later we were on the south coast in Busan. We fitted in lots over the 3 days. Beomeosa temple was adorned with lanterns in preparation for Buddha's birthday. We took a long, tough hike to another temple, Seokbulsa. It was hard to reach, but worth seeing. An Essex Girl's Korean Adventure. My year teaching English in Seoul. Sunday, 20 April 2008. Last weekend we went to Jeonju, situated about 3 hours south of Seoul, on a tour with a recruitment company, WorknPlay. The majority of the 30 people in the group were English teachers like ourselves. Jeonju Hanok village, is a traditional Korean village, which has 700 traditional Korean houses which are still occupied. We slept in a Korean house the Korean way (on the floor! Jeonju church and a cool Korean dude.
