Child Engineering 101: 12.2011
http://childengineers.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Two software engineers attempt to raise children. Aaron continually amazes me. Yesterday at breakfast, Audrey was eating 3 kinds of cereal mixed together (Heart 2 Heart, a cereal we call hexagons, and Puffins). Aaron told her "You have 2 squared minus 1 kinds! Today at breakfast, out of the blue, Aaron asked, "Are there 3 kinds of 2's? And then wait for me to acknowledge this all important fact.). More recently, he pointed out when it was 6:36 that it was a pattern and a square. I thought he meant th...

She's around 15th percentile for height at 32.25". She got her last Hep B shot that day and a flu shot. She didn't cry for the first shot, but she did for the second one. She quieted down pretty quick, though. With a bowl nearly full of breakfast.). Like Aaron (and their mom), she loves books. She likes to page through them. Both ...I am ...

Two software engineers attempt to raise children. Yes, it was awhile ago, but here are some photos from her first birthday. It was a casual day with just family and Kim. I made cupcakes more for Aaron and Audrey who wanted to celebrate than I did for Lila. But she took to it right away! She wants to feed him. He recoiled from her chocolate mess! Getting help opening her first gift. Who cares about presents when you have a left over plastic Easter egg half? Getting "help" opening her first gift.

Why do I have to name my blog! Tuesday, November 04, 2008. You heard it here first! July 16 I predicted that Barack Obama would be the next president of the United States. Good luck to all of us as we move into an extremely challenging chapter in the history of the United States. In other news, I drove through my old home town this afternoon, and I drove through Rio Vista. But that's the thing about life. We never know where it is taking us, or how much of it we have still to live. In the words o...One w...

Why do I have to name my blog! Friday, January 30, 2009. This from todays USA Today (page D1) apparently regarding traveling with teenagers on a cruise:. The kids get a set amount of money put on their sea pass account, normally $40 a day. (It sounds like a lot, but video games are almost $2 each.) Sometimes they bring their own money or earn more before we go." Five-Rileys. 40 a day per kid = $120 a day. Let's say its a short 5 day cruise. 5 times $120 a day = $600. It sounds like a lot"! But last night around midnight, the thunk in the night was Noah, who either fell out of bed, or tripped getting out of bed. No screams of pain. No crying out loud. Just a boy with a lot of blood coming out of his nose, quietly wimpering in the bathroom. We got the bleeding stopped and he crawled into our bed as we cleaned up the bloody trail that he'd ...

Why do I have to name my blog! Friday, May 22, 2009. I've added a blog to my blog roll. I just discovered a blog called zenhabits. I don't really know how I found it now. Tangentially via something else that I was searching for, I'm relatively secure in saying. And I haven't really read much of it yet. But I want to. And I think that you should to. So there. An example of value that I see on this guys site. Is his most recent post. Saturday, May 16, 2009. Daddy, can you get my ball back? Mattea had asked...

Why do I have to name my blog! Monday, July 06, 2009. You remember all of that Easter candy from my previous blog post, right? Well, one night after dinner the kids decided to have some. And when they were done, somehow a bag of Easter candy ended up on the floor. Normally not a big deal. But it got overlooked and didn't get picked up when everyone went to bed. Everyone except Mocha, that is. And inside the bag were chocolate Easter eggs. As in past tense. As in Mocha ate the chocolate eggs.
