A weblog about Elanora Willow and Dominic Michael Bruinooge. Forget Free Range Parents …. We’re the neglectful ones. About 2 weeks ago (I’m not even certain the specific date), Dom lost a tooth. He was romping around with Ella and didn’t even notice its disappearance. When he realized it, he couldn’t find it. Thank goodness I FINALLY remembered to check under his pillow. I found THREE pieces of paper and immediately felt horrible …. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. March 11, 2015. March 8, 2015.

A weblog about Elanora Willow and Dominic Michael Bruinooge. I smile and give her a big hug. Which is when she hits me with the Seriously? Public displays of affection are definitely not her thing. Nor are private displays of affection, actually. Most times, a hug is something she does because she realizes that it’s What Is Done, not because she’s seeking one out. And a kiss forget about it! A month or so later, at the Small Press Expo, one of the comics she brought home was the graphic novel Drama.

Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy: October 2008
http://childrenscause.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy. Mobilizing to Conquer Childhood Cancer. Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Get with the Plan. I realize that our nation has a lot on its plate; a financial meltdown, a couple of wars, and numerous other challenges, but as the saying goes, nothing else really matters if you don't have your health. So I turn to the proposals around cancer from the Democratic and Republican candidates for president. I think context is important, so I provide the following data:. My analysis is...

Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy: T-4 and counting
http://childrenscause.blogspot.com/2009/02/t-4-and-counting.html
Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy. Mobilizing to Conquer Childhood Cancer. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Looking back, what did it take to get here? Could this be an easier, or at least shorter road? Well, I do think that there is an increasing recognition of the value of an advocate-driven program, like RTA. And CCCA is small, so perhaps is reasonable to assume we can't pull it off. But, awareness of the program is growing and there is recognition of our ability to lead this effort.

Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy. Mobilizing to Conquer Childhood Cancer. Thursday, May 21, 2009. Cookies, cancer and camp. I spent the better part of last week in Gold Creek, Montana, about an hour outside of Missoula. If you've never been to Montana, add it to your bucket list. And when I was first invited, I really didn't want to go. Had I not gotten on that plane, CCCA would have missed an opportunity to share our knowledge about advocacy and how young adult survivors can engage in the process, a...

Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy: From my notes with Mickey Mouse

Children's Cause for Cancer Advocacy. Mobilizing to Conquer Childhood Cancer. Friday, June 26, 2009. From my notes with Mickey Mouse. The primary reason is that our system is set up to pay physicians and other providers NOT to ensure better health for their patients, not to spend time listening to patients concerns, but to deliver treatments. So all this good work in pediatric is happening on the cheap. Think of what we could achieve in improving healthcare and reducing costs if we could fix the paym...
