MyFriends is a Houston charitable foundation that was established in 1972 with the sole objective of raising funds to aid abused, abandoned and traumatized children. The Board of Directors and volunteer -- we have no paid staff -- raise monies each year; we then distribute monies to projects that serve children without excessive administrative costs. Many organizations are new, under-funded and have not yet developed their own fund-raising capabilities.
