Youth Pastors Anonymous: February 2011
http://youthpastorsanonymous.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Find a Local YPA. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Rights of Passage.Milestone Ministry. As my wife, Joanna, is a children's minister; I have heard her talk about this a lot as a place that it looks like children's ministry may try to really go to. I think in many ways it could be a good thing where we help celebrate our children as the continue on their faith journey into adolescence. So the question came up "What faith/life stages happen that would we would be able to celebrate within a youth ministry?

Youth Pastors Anonymous: August 2011
http://youthpastorsanonymous.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Find a Local YPA. Monday, August 15, 2011. Who is pouring into you. We had a great YPA gathering this month! It was amazing to be back together after taking the summer off. I cannot describe how uplifting it is to be together with the community! The story was about how she was invited to go on a mission trip with some people from her church, and although there were youth on the trip, she was not really expected to lead in any way; and they were paying for her to go. It does seem like we find ourselves in...

Youth Pastors Anonymous: Thank you…
http://youthpastorsanonymous.blogspot.com/2011/11/thank-you.html
Find a Local YPA. Thursday, November 3, 2011. As Youth Pastors, there are some many things that we do that are overlooked and underappreciated. Often times, teens and their families forget to or don’t know to say “thank you.” It is amazing to me how deeply touching a simple heartfelt thank you means. So, as today is National Thank A Youth Worker Day (check out more about this at thankayouthworkerday.com. Thank you for bringing me cookies, ice cream, coffee, anything while I was recovering. I cannot image...

Not My Own: May 2013
http://samtidball.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
I am not my own I was paid for with a price. Saturday, May 11, 2013. Born to Be a Mom? I saw a Mother's Day card at the store with the title, "Born to be a Mother." I didn't read the rest but my thoughts couldn't help but be alarmed. This presumes that some women's entire purpose for existing is to be a mom. I love being a mom, but it is not the core of who I am. It is not the reason I was born. I absolutely love and cherish the gift of being a mother! Yet, I cannot always rely on my son to make me happy...

I am not my own I was paid for with a price. Monday, November 11, 2013. What Does it Mean to do Devotions? Last night I had the best devotion ever and it wasn't because I was sitting quietly focused reading my Bible. Not that good devotions don't happen that way, but for me it was different this time. Devotions should help us love God with all our heart, mind, and soul through encountering the living Christ. This is what it means to do devotions. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Not My Own: December 2012
http://samtidball.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
I am not my own I was paid for with a price. Friday, December 14, 2012. Today I am wearing that sweatshirt. You know, the snowboarding one you bought me when I was in high school. I remember pulling it off the rack and longing for the image of what the sweatshirt promised, "Authentic Roxy Snowboard Riding". I was super into snowboarding and the image that came along with it. I didn't think I would ever own the shirt, I was just looking and maybe drooling. I'll buy it for you." You said. Rest in Peace,.

Not My Own: April 2014
http://samtidball.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
I am not my own I was paid for with a price. Thursday, April 17, 2014. I will never forget the time I thought I completely failed during a job interview. It was more than a job, it was a leadership position on the Barnabas Team at Calvin College. A male and female Barnabas leader were assigned to a dorm to help other residents grow spiritually. Barnabas leaders were responsible for living their lives vulnerably reflecting Christ to others. What was the instruction that I gave you? The main interviewer ha...

I will never forget the moment when my son was born when I finally knew he was a he! The surgeon told my husband to look over the blue curtain hanging to hide my c-section in order to call out the gender. Andrew said with a huge smile on his face. Our heart was not set on any specific gender. Here are some reasons my husband and I prefer to wait. 1 We love surprises. Instead of a bun...

Not My Own: April 2015
http://samtidball.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
I am not my own I was paid for with a price. Tuesday, April 7, 2015. There is Andrew Tidball, and we are married. Maybe that’s weird, but we have known each other since our childhood so sometimes it feels like my past and future collided. Seeing what was a dream, become real was absolutely the most incredible experience that words cannot describe. I still have moments the more I get to know their personality in which I think, Whoa! This is for real! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). For the...
