Just Simple Wilderness Fare - Chilkat Lake Website!
Just Simple Wilderness Fare. Chilkat Lake is located about 30 miles west of Haines, AK in the Chilkat Valley. The Lake is remote with only river access. To get into the lake you have to travel by jet boat or floatplane in the summer and by snowmobile in the winter. The public road system ends approximately 2 miles from the lake and from there you travel by boat or snowmobile into the lake. There are no public utilities. All food, supplies, materials are brought in by one of the methods above.
