Clickie's Journal: another gelling thing!
http://clickie.livejournal.com/140122.html
21 February 2008 - 11:40 pm - another gelling thing! Adding to the list of plants used for gelling. I just found out that bracken fern rhizomes, in the family Dennstaedtiaceae. Woo! Looking at the list, I note that the Japanese must be really into gelled things. Traditional Japanese desserts use glutinous rice, bracken, konnyaku, agar, and kudzu.five of the nine. 2008-02-22 09:32 am (UTC). Cornstarch gells up nicely, but you've already got Poaceae. 2008-02-22 11:01 am (UTC). 2008-02-22 11:57 am (UTC).

Where Is the Hope? | Journey
https://samandcharis.wordpress.com/2009/09/26/where-is-the-hope
Of the online variety. September 26, 2009. Where Is the Hope? Cal was pulverized 42-3 in a brutal game today against Oregon. I have officially lost all hope in any of my sports teams. Maybe they should never rank Cal in the single digits. Every time they do that, they fall flat on their face. I lost hope after the USC game. On October 5, 2009. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. In the Heights | Journey
https://samandcharis.wordpress.com/2009/09/13/in-the-heights
Of the online variety. September 13, 2009. I’m going to go to sleep soon, so this entry will be short. But I want to get this up before I turn in for the night. Charis and I attended another musical tonight. This time we saw. Were catchy and the choreography was fun. The lyrics were witty and the musical styles creative. The characters were extremely likable and easy to root for. But one thing Charis and I talked about after the show was music’s ability to move. And how sometimes ev...You are commenting ...

Clickie's Journal: reading and TV correlation?
http://clickie.livejournal.com/138099.html
19 November 2007 - 09:33 pm - reading and TV correlation? From this NEA study. I guess I'm the exception that proves the rule? I must watch somewhere between 2-4 hours of TV a day, but I've already read 50 books this year. And passed my qualifying exam. 2007-11-20 05:58 am (UTC). 1 A difference of 24 minutes of TV a day doesn't really sound that significant. That's one Friends rerun. 2 12 books a year is a frequent reader? 2007-11-20 06:18 am (UTC). 2007-11-20 01:01 pm (UTC). 2007-11-20 11:24 pm (UTC).

Clickie's Journal: swarming bugs
http://clickie.livejournal.com/145065.html
24 January 2009 - 01:14 pm - swarming bugs. When it rains in California, weird bugs start swarming out of the ground. Usually it's just ants, but this storm has brought out some kind of gray swarming thing onto the patio:. Here's what one looks like at 10x magnification:. They ". come in a wide variety of decorator colors, including white, pink, yellow, green, orange, red, blue, and indigo." I'm not sure it makes me feel better to know that my swarms are tastefully colored. 2009-01-24 09:29 pm (UTC).

Of the online variety. September 20, 2009. So if you’ve watched any TV lately you’ve probably seen the commercials for the upcoming series on ABC titled. It’s a new ensemble sci-fi drama that seems to be in the same vein as. I somehow found out that it was first a book by science fiction author, Robert J. Sawyer, before it was turned into a television show, so I went to the library and checked it out. Laquo; Thoughts and Observations about Civility and Race. Where Is the Hope? Sore Feet | Journey
https://samandcharis.wordpress.com/2009/09/11/sore-feet
Of the online variety. September 11, 2009. Our first full day in New York City was spent taking in the sights around the area where we are staying. Sothis meant most everything was within walking distance from the hotel. During the first half of the day all was going well. We were walking quickly and keeping up with the crowds that filled the streets. It was fun! We saw so much. Well, I think so anyway. It was at this time that we encountered misteravery’s favorite cowboy in NYC.]. Radio City Music Hall.

Surreal | Journey

Of the online variety. September 13, 2009. Surreal is the word I used several times today to describe what I felt about being at Ground Zero. I don’t mean this to sound irreverent or disrespectful, but until today the events of 9/11 were much like a movie in my mind. Granted a very long and horribly nightmarish movie. It was something that I watched over and over again on TV, and of course I, like most of you, will. Laquo; In the Heights. Thoughts and Observations about Civility and Race. Ben – Art.

Feeling a Little Soggy | Journey
https://samandcharis.wordpress.com/2009/09/11/feeling-a-little-soggy
Of the online variety. September 11, 2009. Feeling a Little Soggy. We along with most everyone in New York right now are feeling soggy. It has been raining all day long. We did not let the rain stop us; however, it did change up our plans a bit. Our original plans for the day were to head downtown and spend the morning around the World Trade Center area and join the memorials going on for the 9/11 anniversary. We were also going to try to catch the ferry for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. After ...
