For months, we have been discussing American environmental writers in the graduate course I’ve been teaching at Southwest University. But starting this week, it will be the students’ turn to present their final papers, in the form of a power point or led discussion in class. Outside our door in the courtyard of our hotel in the old town of Lijiang. The light fixture above our bed is the sun, when lit, a lotus flower when not. Snow Mountain above the rooftops of Lijiang.
