The perspective that was used in imperial China can be considered as a culturally different view that proceeded parallel to the invention of the central perspective, starting from supposedly at least the 8th century. The first landscape paintings to be analysed were found in Tang. Dynasty tombs, where they were preserved to be seen by art historicans. Followed by narrative figure paintings.
