But then this guy comes along who’s working on his PhD, and he’s doing this research that’s a ridiculous kind of awesome. Rewriting Early Chinese Texts. More earnestly when I had them in my hands. But there will be time for that later. Larr; Previous post. You are commen...

I moved to Tokyo two weeks ago and I’m hard at work learning Japanese and trying to maintain or improve my Chinese (I’ll be posting later on how I’m doing that while in Japan, I promise). But I have another, very exciting piece of news to announce. Instead of Qing history. He helped me through the process of applying for the MA program. Asymp; 8 Comments. Oh yeah, I worked smart too. SRS, basing my study on the ICLP program, reading as much as I could about how other people have successfully learned languages, etc. But no matter how smart you work, you still have to work. Last month the hard work and tenacity finally paid off. After 1 year and 8 months in Taiwan, I got a job as a translator. Chinese has gone from being a hobby that I hoped would be useful one day to now being a marketable skill. Now is when the real learning can begin.

Friday, August 31, 2012. First Day of School. Okay, technically, today is the second day. Yesterday was my first day at Guting. But yesterday I didn't get to teach (I mostly sat at my desk using a really slow computer to look up Christmas carols for the Christmas performances that I'm supposed to get started on now.obviously a big thing here).
