Several blessing ceremonies are held in our temple throughout the year. Each ceremony pays homage to a particular Buddha or Bodhisattva. For example, the Medicine Buddha Blessing Ceremony focuses on making prayers to the Medicine Buddha for the purpose of purification and healing. 釋迦牟尼佛，淨飯王太子，名為悉達多，意為 一切義成就者 (舊譯 義成 )，全名悉達多喬達摩 Siddhārtha Gautama。 釋迦牟尼的意思是 能仁 、 能儒 、 能忍 、 能寂 等，因父為釋迦族，成道後被尊稱為釋迦牟尼，義即 釋迦族的聖人。 釋迦牟尼佛 公元前565年 公元前486年 大約與我國孔子同時代。 藏傳 小般若經 ，彼經雲 諸佛皆從此陀羅尼咒中生，釋迦佛亦依此陀羅尼咒之威力而成佛，觀世音依此現前得菩薩果。 從一九七零年開始, 蓮生活佛先後皈依顯教印順導師、樂果法師、道安法師 ; 一九七二年受菩薩戒於南投碧山岩寺, 戒師是賢頓法師、慧三法師、覺光法師, 課儀師父是上林法師和善賜法師。 一 九八一年起依因緣, 再祈求人間上師的傳承灌頂。 在 寧瑪派 (紅教) 中密 , 蓮生活佛早已獲得了鳴和尚的傳承心印及灌頂, 受贈的傳承信物有: 諾那上師使用的小金剛鈴, 西藏布達拉宮之寶物 文殊篋 、 法本 等等。 在 噶舉派 (白教),蓮生活佛接受十六世的大寶法王 卡瑪巴賜與白教最高的 五佛嚴頂灌 , 受贈的傳承信物有:法王 手持的 白水晶唸珠 、錫金新隆德寺之 寶瓶 等物。
