Welcome to Chipeta Water District. Water… It's what we do! Project 7 Water Authority. Most of the water treated at Project 7 comes from the Blue Mesa Reservoir. The largest body of water in Colorado. Chipeta’s service area is mainly Chipeta Rd on the east to Shavano Valley Rd on the west, Lasalle Rd on the north and Ranger Rd on the south. An area approximately 36 Sq. miles. Welcome to Chipeta Water District. Water… It's what we do! Project 7 Water Authority. Chipeta Water Company was started in July 1963 using wells located between Chipeta Road and 6450 Rd. Chipeta began buying treated water from The Project 7 Water Treatment plant in the early ‘80’s. The District office is located on Spring Creek Mesa, in beautiful Western Colorado, just West of the city of Montrose. Might have watered a little bit too early! Or was the frost too late?
