I just read where the Beer Institute conducted a study which showed that West Virginia ranks LAST among the 50 states in wine consumption and 49th in liquor consumption. However, they rank 17th in beer purchasing. This study caused me to contemplate the reasons. I’m sure the Beer Institute did NOT survey the production and purchase of “corn likker” that came from a copper still up in the “hollers” of the Appalachians. Lookin’ for a moonshine still.
