Live Like Common Farmers – Chism Heritage Farm
https://chismheritagefarm.com/2015/04/15/live-like-common-farmers
2015 Pricing and Schedule. April 15, 2015. By Head Farm Steward. Live Like Common Farmers. My writing persona would lead the reader to believe I have been down lately. Maybe I have been but, if so, I think it was due to our recent illness. Among other things, that cold was an effective weight-loss strategy. Let’s count our blessings today beginning with an extreme contrast. You will never understand. What it means to live your life. With no meaning or control. When you’re laying in bed at night. I have s...
Let it Grow! – Chism Heritage Farm
https://chismheritagefarm.com/2015/04/30/let-it-grow
2015 Pricing and Schedule. April 30, 2015. By Head Farm Steward. I see Mrs. White in the morning light. Not a cow pie to be seen. A kingdom of grass and forbs. And Julie is the Queen! Can’t hold the cows back anymore! Dunno Never finished reading Voisin. So we move the cows quickly to keep them from munching the grass down to the dirt. 9 days later the grass is ready to rock again. I hear your questions. “When do we move them? 8221; “How do we know they are getting enough? Did you know I have children?

2015 Pricing and Schedule. April 26, 2015. By Head Farm Steward. Reading Journal 2015 Week 17. Spring has sped up our lives. Reading has necessarily slowed down. Julie was out of town this week at a (Vendor name has been censored by the FDA). 8230;thing….leaving me with the farm, my job, the kids, no food and even less time to read. If you earned 100 million dollars every day…well, what would you do? It’s a difficult question for the house of Saud to deal with. Anyway, fun stuff. I’m going to say no.
Spring Greening – Chism Heritage Farm
https://chismheritagefarm.com/2015/04/01/spring-greening
2015 Pricing and Schedule. April 1, 2015. By Head Farm Steward. Down in the warm sunshine on a south-facing slope, feeling the tender, fresh, green grass around me. Still too cool for bugs but the sunshine was warm on my face. It was pretty comfy. The chickens and cows are North of the hog building. We have the old flock of layers out there and running unfenced. I have mixed feelings about this but, really, I think the hens are doing very well and seem to be laying their eggs in the nest boxes. As warm a...
Seasonality – Chism Heritage Farm
https://chismheritagefarm.com/category/seasonality
2015 Pricing and Schedule. March 12, 2016. By Head Farm Steward. A Season of Rest. So there I was…right in the middle of reading Henderson’s book “The Farming Manual”…and then…nothing. Henderson tells us all about humane animal handling and teaches me a few things I was able to put to immediate use. But that’s for another time. We were (maybe are) in a season of rest. I don’t know. So I write about what I don’t know. This should give me plenty to write about but…well, it is a little embar...They move eve...

The Six B's of Exeter: June 2015
http://sixbeesofexeter.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
The Six B's of Exeter. Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Victor Davis Hanson on the Real California Water Problem. I've come to like Victor Davis Hanson. He's from Selma just up Highway 99 a bit. Every time I go to Selma for a baseball game I think of Mr. Hanson. With the column below he hit a sharp liner in the gap regarding the California water issue and the general problem with how the majority of people, especially our "leaders," think in California. Friday, June 19, 2015. Mc Farland, The Movie. I have a dream.

Vintage Rose: A Cold Winter Day
http://vintagerose-at-plumthorpe.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-cold-winter-day.html
Saturday, June 20, 2015. A Cold Winter Day. A chilly winter day in June. Warwick has worked tirelessly to finish the federation window awnings. They make the house look complete now. It's lovely to be able to have the window open now when it's raining without the worry of rain coming in. Someone popped up just as I took this shot! Those clouds are heavy. We don't get snow where we live but I think if we did these are the clouds those soft flakes would fall from. A warm sunny spot to sit on a winters day.

Chism Heritage Farm – A Stewardship Chronicle
2015 Pricing and Schedule. July 5, 2017. By Head Farm Steward. 20 Years. Twenty. Twenty years ago on July 5th I had no idea what I was doing. Julie checked all the right boxes that I thought a mate needed…. Really, really pretty? Check (Bonus points applied). So…what the heck? Let’s do this. That is as much consideration as my tiny 20 year old brain could offer toward the subject of marriage. Then back again. Over and over, again and again. Does it have to be this way? Last week and came across this:.
