The History of the Site. Wattle and Daub Garden Shed. Chiswell is one of three villages in the Underhill Ward of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council in the county of Dorset. There are approximately 5,000 residents living in Underhill, most of them on the high ground leading to the top of the Isle of Portland. Chiswell, formerly Chesilton, is situated on the margins of the Chesil Beach. One of Chiswell’s best known features is the Sea Wall (1960’s) and the Chesil Sea Defences.
