Choosing Grace First

Tuesday, August 27, 2013. The Blessing In Suffering. Dear God, please let my mother die.”. This was the title of a blog I recently read on the Internet. The author was a woman who wasn’t certain if there even was a God and was struggling with the day to day care of her mother battling dementia. Work with families who are caregivers. Their parents and the sentiment expressed in this blog is quite common. Let me say by the limited experience I have, dementia may be the most complicated and emotionally.

Choosing Grace First: What Do You Want For Christmas?

http://choosinggracefirst.blogspot.com/2011/12/what-do-you-want-for-christmas.html

Friday, December 2, 2011. What Do You Want For Christmas? The Christmas season is a wonderful time of year. We find ourselves busy with preparations in hopes that our celebration will be both memorable and joyful. Yesterday, I found myself wandering through stores trying to stir up ideas for gifts. However, I must confess as I submerge myself into this season, my wants tend to outweigh my needs. What do I really want for Christmas? What if we were given the opportunity to have the ultimate Christmas gift?

Choosing Grace First: Abandoned and Forsaken

http://choosinggracefirst.blogspot.com/2011/09/abandoned-and-forsaken.html

Monday, September 19, 2011. That’s what happened to a young dog over the weekend, tied to a handicap parking sign at our church. I can’t help but wonder what went through the mind of someone as they were tying this precious dog to a pole in the middle of a rain storm. To be honest, my first reaction was, “How could anyone be so cruel? 8221; I was so quick to judge the character of another human being as I stared into the eyes of an innocent dog that had no idea how his life had come to this point. Whatev...

Choosing Grace First: July 2011

http://choosinggracefirst.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 29, 2011. It's Time to Clean House. Two years ago, I did a Bible Study at the Catholic church. I thought God had led me there to learn more about the Catholic faith. However, God had a deeper purpose in mind. He wanted to show me what the light and hope of Christ looks like in the midst of suffering. My last moment with Kathy was bathing her. As I washed her feet, tears of both joy and sadness fell onto my hands as she faintly said to me, “God loves you.”. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Will we...

Choosing Grace First: Finding Fullness in Christ

http://choosinggracefirst.blogspot.com/2011/09/finding-fullness-in-christ.html

Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Finding Fullness in Christ. People Helping People Find Fullness in Christ". This is our mission statement at our church. We as Christians are supposed to help others find fullness in Christ. But what exactly does it mean to find fullness in Christ? 8220;I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12). Has this happened to you? How does one experience the ...

This fit the CAS challenge today on SCS, and I discovered a new challenge blog over on Pinterest in a post from Harriet Skelly called AAA cards. The challenge was to use gold. I used Kitchen Sink stamps and peanut brittle and rich cocoa ink. For the diecut numbers I used a wonderful gold glittered cardstock. Thursday, December 11, 2014.

jane ault---choosing grace | Learning the dynamic dance of God's grace and my choice

Jane ault—choosing grace. Learning the dynamic dance of God's grace and my choice. Like March, I Can’t Make Up My Mind. What I wanted and hoped for, years ago when I committed myself to a relationship with Christ, was instant perfection and a problem-free life. I thought that these would be automatic benefits which would be granted to me without any effort on my part. These are not the promises that Jesus made. As I said in. Emotional Freedom: The Choices We Must Make,. Like the month of March, I’m...

Choosing Grace Today

Choosing Grace Today Facebook. Saturday, May 9, 2015. At this point, this woman was in awe. She looked at him and looked at me. She told me she was very impressed that he was so well behaved while shopping. I thanked her for the compliment. She then looked at him and told him that he should tell me to buy him a candy bar for behaving so nicely. I am also well aware that there are a lot of 1st graders that simply would not be able to do these things and that is ok too. Friday, May 8, 2015. This year, mom ...

Choosing Green Tea | Making little changes everyday

Making little changes everyday. June 24, 2014. Ants, Ants, ANTS! I had gotten home from work and was innocently eating mac and cheese on the couch. Suddenly, I noticed a tiny ant crawling up my leg. I did the only rational thing I could think of, and screamed, jumped up, and spilled mac and cheese all over the floor simultaneously. Needless to say I have an ant problem. What was I going to do to fix it? I decided on this one:. 1 cup white vinegar. 1 cup warm water. A word of caution:. June 22, 2014.
