Ramblings of a Dying Woman. Having chosen to die at home, my doctor recommended Rainbow Hospice, and so far, they’ve been amazing. Although I’m still feeling pretty good (despite the exhaustion), their nurses have visited to get to know Jay and me. Ramblings of a Dying Woman. Every morning for the last week, I feel like I’ve been rolled into a microwave oven. Radiation therapy isn’t painful, but it has a cumulative exhausting effect. The doctor is using radiation for “spot treatment” to shrink a very swollen, painful lymph node. The whole process takes only five minutes, five days a week and is working quite well.
