Friday, 28 March 2008. Ten months later I am standing in an empty sandwich shop listening to the hum of refrigerators and I can't remember feeling this excited. The smells of stale cooking oil and long forgotten food scraps are overpowering. My boots slip on the grease covered laminate floor. I discover yesterdays forgotten sweet and sour chicken in the microwave. Overwhelmed by the cadaverous stench of the meat fridge I yell 'dirty bastards'. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What would cause a lady, wearing NHS id, to spit venom at an innocent cafe employee? Splitting multi-packs and selling the contents individually, apparently. Hmmmm I'm not causing starvation in a once prosperous country, while preventing any form of democracy. I haven't imprisoned my family in an Austrian cellar. I am, however, breeding hate!

Thursday, 7 June 2007. Gluten Free Bread machine. That said, I found a recipe recently for a Milk Loaf that calls for a bread machine. Any old bread machine, no fancy schmancy machine with a slick GF cycle. So, I gave it a spin and HOLY SHIT the results were good! This is the bread that you have been waiting for. 9 fluid oz (1 1/4 cups) of milk. 15ml/ 1 tablespon of vegetable oil. 4ml/3/4 teaspoon of salt. 15 ml/ 1 tablespoon of caster (superfine) sugar. 8 oz/ 2 cups of white rice flour or GF bread flour.

Fear not, you can make your own and bathe in the nostalgia of eating warm sugared dougnuts! The doughnuts will be in the shape of strips like churros - delicious! 12 fl oz of warm (not hot) milk. 1 teaspoon of salt. 2 1/2 oz caster sugar. 8 oz of Gluten free flour. 2 teaspoons of xanthan gum. 2 teaspoons of yeast granules. Oil for deep frying. 1 teaspoon of mixed spice or cinnamon (optional).

Why mix plain yogurt when there are so many tasty varieties waiting to be tested in scone mixture? 12 oz GF flour mix. 4 tsp xanthan gum powder. My son had a longing for a good old fashioned meat pie - mince and onion, no less. No problem! 8 oz GF flour mix (I used Glutano). 4 oz of butter or margerine. Ok so cut everything up in to strips as the name suggests, which I guess blogger thinks will be easier for you to understand if this picture is loaded vertically. A nice way to heat up your tortillas. Once you get to about here your veggies are nice and soft and have a little bit of that fried flavor and the onion are halfway caramelized and so a little sweet, in this case a cast-iron pan really helps.
