A specific mens group providing support and company for older men. Visiting at home, including help with telephone calls, paying bills and small odd jobs. These classes are funded through Manchester Public Health Development Service. We use a graded system that allows older adults to find a class that suits their capabilities, but offers a chance to move to something more / less challenging should they want that. Monday, 9 April 2012. An Academy is Not the Way Forward. Carrots offered to schools to choose to become Academies include the freedom from Local Authority Control and the freedom to vary from the National Curriculum. The truth is that accountability is transferred to national Government. There are also private companies keen to move in. A number of parents and other campaigners have got together to oppose the plans under the umbrella Chorlton Parents Against Academy. The campaign has my full support....
