Tuesday, April 19, 2005. I have just returned from a long weekend in Leeds and Glasgow, watching Terrorvision's last ever concert and visiting friends. In Edinburgh we met my sister and headed for Leeds by another train. The train switch was a bit hectic since the first train ran late and we had to run for the second one, only to find it hadn't arrived on time either. Friday, September 09, 2005. Wednesday was the last day of my Masters course at Aberdeen. All that remains is the mark for my project, and graduation in November. The hand-in time for the dissertation was 12pm, so the fun started soon after. Lunch at the Bobbin, crazy night-time bowling at the beach, dinner at TGI Fridays, nightcap at Slains. Tuesday, August 09, 2005. I've been waiting for the new Audioscrobbler site to appear since Saturday, when they took the old version down. All of today the home page has said that today would be the launch day, but I didn't see anything change until just a few minutes ago. I'm not that keen on the new pink style, and the charts are harder to read now, but I can live with that. I've still to investigate all the new features, but feel that it's important to point out that they've been hoffed.

Since I've pretty much finished my project (the hand in date for the dissertation is Wednesday, and I'm just waiting for my supervisor to finish his final proof-read) I decided to spend a bit of time on my website, just in case I need to give the address out in interviews. Thursday, October 28, 2004. Pop Quiz, Hotshot. In the last two weeks I've spent just a bit too much time in pub quizzes. Last Monday I was at Key West (a wee pub in Westhill) for a music quiz, which sounds really good, but I'm only useful for songs in the 80's and 90's, leaving the earlier stuff for my parents to argue over. Next weekend I'll be back in Glasgow, to help my sister move flat, to go climbing again hopefully, and to see the kids I left behind once more. So look out! Sunday, October 24, 2004.

Friday, January 28, 2005. Silence Is Not Golden. Two days ago I installed the latest update for my iPod. It told me to charge the iPod so that the update would happen, but on returning it to my laptop, iTunes told me the update had failed, try again. I think of a solution: take the iPod into the lab at uni, dump its content onto one of the laptops there, then get iTunes to import all the songs again. I may lose some track information (I'm not sure if all data is stored in ID3 tags or elsewhere), but ...

A Dundee-based company that produces software for GPs to use in medical centres. Website and content manager developers based in Edinburgh. Main clients are the Scottish Executive. Turned down for job.
