Chris, Jessie and Ava. Friday, August 14, 2009. Well, it was finally time for my baby's first haircut! My sweet friend Lindsey did the honors, and saved a little curl for me. Ava was amazingly still and compliant, thanks to a little entertainment from Jackson and MarioCart :) Her hair looked adorable when Lindsey finished, and all her curls were still there! My fear was that her first haircut would mean the end of all those precious curls, but Lindsey did an awesome job and preserved them quite nicely.

It's been nice having Chris home from work earlier in the evenings so we can spend the rest of the night together doing something fun as a family! Lately we've been enjoying birthday celebrations (Carter's big 1st birthday), spending time in the mountains cooking tin foil dinners and s'mores, and trying to make the most of these last few weeks of summer before Chris' last semester for his Bachelor's begins!

Chrysanthemum had triplet bucklings and they have been so much fun. Since they will be part of Chris's pack goat herd, we are bottle feeding them. Every 6 hours. It's like having a real baby. We had the time of our lives- learning so much about the world, each other, and ourselves. We can't think of anything we would have done differently, especially with Vlad on his way to SF!
