Transplanting « Chris&Jodi.net

http://chrisandjodi.net/2010/04/27/tomato-transplant

Eleven countries in ten months. After 3 weeks the little tomato plants are finally big enough to move into their own home. So say good bye to the egg carton and hello to the plastic cup. I took the little tomato seedlings out of their egg carton and moved them into a much bigger place. So now they have some room to grow. The strongest eight seedlings were chosen to move up into brand new 16oz cups. Only the top five will move on to be planted.

Eleven countries in ten months. All Set For Planting. Chris on March 31st, 2010. The garden is all set for the 2010 veggie season. Now I just have to decide what vegetables to plant. Right now I’m thinking that there will be beans, tomatoes carrots and squash. I’m excited to see what other seeds Fred Meyer has to offer. Continue reading about All Set For Planting.

January « 2010 « Chris&Jodi.net

Eleven countries in ten months. Jodi on January 5th, 2010. Yesterday we bid a final farewell to Chris’ grandpa, Carl. The youngest member of a family of seven, Carl was 96-years-old when he passed away last Monday. His body may have finally gave way, but his mind never did. I only knew Carl in his later years, but he continually amazed me with his depth [.]. Continue reading about A final farewell.

Costs « Chris&Jodi.net

http://chrisandjodi.net/costs

Eleven countries in ten months. Since this is our first time traveling around the world we really have no idea what things will cost and how much we are going to spend. As we start narrowing down our itinerary and things we want to see on our trip, the costs are becoming clearer. With inspiration from GoBackPacking.com’s. Pre-trip cost spreadsheet, we created our own. It should be interesting to compare our pre- and post-trip costs as we go along. Click here to see our estimated trip costs.

May « 2010 « Chris&Jodi.net

http://chrisandjodi.net/2010/05

Eleven countries in ten months. Jodi on May 23rd, 2010. I use to be a planner, with emphasis on “use to be”. I loved planning. You know that saying, “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans”. Well, I never liked that saying. Life happens because I make plans—at least that’s what I use to believe. Now, I’m not so sure. Peppered almost [.]. Continue reading about What’s next? Chris on May 19th, 2010. Continue reading about Growing Strong.

Eleven countries in ten months. Massages around Southeast Asia. Chris on April 14th, 2009. Eleven countries in ten months. From Russia with Love. Chris on August 28th, 2009. While in Mongolia, we budgeted out our time for the rest of the trip and realized that our final days of traveling were quickly approaching. Eleven countries in ten months. A year ago today. Jodi on October 11th, 2009. Admittedly, I don’t have a good memory. Eleven countries in ten months. Our last days in Buenos Aires. Chris on December 30th, 2008. Originally we planned to spend about two weeks in Buenos Aires, but getting short on time we decided that we couldn’t stick to our original plan. Living the Rich Life

Sunday, September 15, 2013. I have been disappointed with all of my latest efforts at making banana bread. I had two ripe bananas and took the challenge to find a better recipe. Awhile back I was given a book with a recipe that looked like a winner. Recipe from Feed the Belly. 1 1/4 cups whole-wheat flour. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 3/4 cup packed brown sugar. 2 tablespoons ground flax seed. 1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon, dark cocoa powder. 2 teaspoons baking soda. 6 ounces low-fat vanilla yogurt.
