http://chrisbakeryblog.blogspot.com/2014/07/kombucha-and-art-of-bread-making.html
A random collection of thoughts writings and recipes. I expect. Wednesday, 16 July 2014. Kombucha and the art of bread making. At the shop, (Beanies) we were recently sent some samples of Kombucha - a lightly effervescent drink made from fermented sweetened tea. It came in different flavours so I picked a ginger one and unscrewed the cap only to have the contents of the bottle explode all over me and the desk. (Keep it chilled is the advice - this one was at a warm room temperature! 1 tsp salt - (I don't...

http://chrisbakeryblog.blogspot.com/2015/10/bread-getting-started.html
A random collection of thoughts writings and recipes. I expect. Sunday, 11 October 2015. Bread - getting started. My "old" school friend, Sean, has been asking about getting started in home baking and I thought maybe other people might find this brief introduction useful too. Sean asks:. And when baking at home, do you knead the dough by hand? Because in my book, "The Larousse Book of Bread" by Éric Kayser, kneading by hand appears to take awhile. Fresh yeast can be frozen in useful-sized quantities but ...

Accidents and Incidents, Truths and Observations. A collection of poems. Sunday, 27 September 2015. First Experience with Royal Icing. January 4, 2008. In my pevious post, I mentioned I don’t have time to ice the christmas cookies that I have baked before Christmas. I decided that since I have baked the cookies I might as well attempt to ice them still. Tried doing some simple piping with royal icing. To make it easier, I only stick to white color. Below are some photos including some attempts on piping faces:. First Bakes for Christmas! December 25, 2007. Some pictures to share:. December 23, 2007.
