Mommysmart: Blog Challenge
http://mommysmart.blogspot.com/2007/04/blog-challenge_30.html
Monday, April 30, 2007. There are two reasons that I have chosen this entry from my blog challenge. First, because my sweet husband wrote it to me. Second, because it was my only entry. I was reluctant to post it because it is full of compliments to me and I don't want to sound vain on my own blog. However, he wrote it for me to post, so here it is. 1 - I like men that'll say good things about their wifes. 2 - Rocky is 100% correct about you. He's a blessed man. I am glad you posted this. AhhhhI'm all mi...

Mommysmart: Poem by Wilbur Rees
http://mommysmart.blogspot.com/2009/09/poem-by-wilbur-rees.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Poem by Wilbur Rees. I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please - not enough to. Explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of. Warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don't want enough of him to make. Me love a foreigner or pick beets with a migrant worker. I want ecstasy,. Not transformation; I want the warmth of a womb, not a new birth. I want. A pound of the Eternal in a paper sack. I'd like to buy $3 worth of God,. Marianne Williamson, A. 32 pe...

Mommysmart: Eisegesis VS. Exegesis
http://mommysmart.blogspot.com/2009/10/eisegesis-vs-exegesis.html
Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Eisegesis VS. Exegesis. I recently came across these two words in a fantastic book that I am reading and because I am certainly not a theologian I had to dig further into just exactly what this means. I know that I have at times been guilty of trying to fit God's word into my point of view. I just felt the need to share this in case I am not the only one who needed a "heart conviction" today! What are your thoughts? Certainly, there is nothing wrong with preaching about churc...

Mommysmart: Why do I think that?
http://mommysmart.blogspot.com/2006/12/thoughts-i-have-been-thinking-alot.html
Monday, December 11, 2006. Why do I think that? The renowned French Naturalist, Jean-Henri Fabre, in an experiment with processionary caterpillars was able to entice them on to the rim of a large flowerpot. Processionary caterpillars move through the forest in a long procession feeding on pine needles. They derive their name from their habit of following a lead caterpillar, each with its eyes half closed and head fitted snugly against the rear end of the preceding caterpillar. People often say that motiv...

Mommysmart: There is a difference between being LIKE Jesus and being CLOSE to Jesus
http://mommysmart.blogspot.com/2007/03/there-is-difference-between-being-like.html
Friday, March 09, 2007. There is a difference between being LIKE Jesus and being CLOSE to Jesus. Of all the commandments, which is the most important? The most important one” answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.". Also, when you going to come see me?

Mommysmart: The greater lessons in life
http://mommysmart.blogspot.com/2007/03/greater-lessons-in-life.html
Tuesday, March 13, 2007. The greater lessons in life. I'm sure that you can think of a time when your grandparent told you something that changed you. I can remember lots of great lessons about life from my grandmother and many of them she never spoke. Let me first say that I adore my grandmother. She is the most amazing wife/mother/grandmother that I know. I believe that the reason for success in her marriage is her tremendous respect for my grandfather. Can I have permission to share the story? I had a...
