Intentional Walk: August 2005
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2005. At the top of the "Must See" list was, and still is, Pink Floyd. A couple from my school went to Live 8 this summer and saw Gilmour, Rogers, et. al. I hate them. This was a week after they saw both Coldplay and U2 in Dublin. I hate them a lot. Nobody plays guitar like Eric Clapton. Not BB King. Not Page or Hendrix. Certainly not Eddie Van Halen (please). Not even Gilmour or Knopfler or Stevie Ray although they come (came) pretty darn close. I love Satriani ...I picked up his n...

Intentional Walk: October 2005
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2005. The College Church is an awesome place. Not without our problems. But with some of the greatest people you'll ever meet. I'm so grateful to be a part of it. Posted by Thurman8er @ 8:43 AM. Friday, October 28, 2005. Aside: I am such a superhero junkie. Did you notice that I even bother to correctly hyphenate "Spider-Man"? This makes me an. As James was getting dressed for bed, we both noticed at the same time that he was wearing - wait for it - Batman underwear! I want so much to...

Intentional Walk: Mark: Class 1
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2010/01/mark-class-1.html
Monday, January 11, 2010. We had 10 people for class last night and got all the way to Mark 1:1! We spent some time talking about our personal experiences with the Gospel. Most of us had never studied it in a church setting before. Mark is overshadowed by the other three Gospels. Indeed, Mark has been largely disregarded by the church for its entire existence. Early on, it was thought to be nothing more than an abridgement of Matthew. The language is coarse Greek. The transitions are inelegant. So the Go...

Intentional Walk: March 2005
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 31, 2005. Those Dudes From "The Amazing Race". I really thought I would be rooting for Rob and Amber on "The Amazing Race." I know I'm twisted and sick, but I like Boston Rob. Maybe it's the baseball cap. But it turns out I'm really rooting for the brothers from California. Christians are portrayed so poorly on TV (anybody see the "Christian wife" on "WifeSwap? I was so pleased to see these guys represent our Lord. MAN, I hope they win. Posted by Thurman8er @ 10:17 AM. God greets us each ...

Intentional Walk: Writing!
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2009/11/writing.html
Tuesday, November 03, 2009. One of the reasons I'm in such a blog slog is all of the writing I'm doing. Those of you who have been through seminary remember the preponderance of papers. Not that I'm complaining. I'm one of the odd students that really enjoys writing the papers. I enjoy getting my thoughts out of my head and, since I don't have an outlet for teaching right now, writing is the next best thing. Posted by Thurman8er @ 9:20 AM. Looking forward to your stories! Times nine, thats a lot of hours.

Intentional Walk: April 2005
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2005. My Neighbor, Chris. Chris Erdman used to live next door to me. Then he sold his house and moved. Now he lives two houses away on the opposite side. The weird thing is that I don't talk to him now as much as I used to because of that one house separating us. But when I do, it is pure joy. Lisa and I have been so blessed with the people got put in our neighborhood. Today, I'm just particularly grateful for Chris. Posted by Thurman8er @ 8:55 AM. Monday, April 25, 2005. Why was it th...

http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2009/10/ireland-day-1-or-2.html
Monday, October 05, 2009. Ireland: Day 1. (Or 2? 13 hours on three different planes. And have I mentioned that I can't really sleep sitting down? We left at 7:00 am Sunday in Fresno and got to Dublin around 8:00 am on Monday. Lisa kept thinking that restaurants were closed and churches should be in session. It weirds you out. After checking in and sleeping for five hours, we went out for a walk. There are pubs in Dublin! Posted by Thurman8er @ 12:25 PM. Rather than blog, keep a journal (Yeah, Lisa! And r...

Intentional Walk: Act Like A Pastor!
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2009/09/act-like-pastor.html
Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Act Like A Pastor! It amazes me to realize that I preached for over 12 years. At first, it was only once every few months. Then it was every six weeks or so. By the end, I was part of a three-man rotation and, as a part of the Worship Committee, I was involved in planning pulpit curriculum and much more. Posted by Thurman8er @ 10:37 AM. These days, though we live in a community of about a quarter million people, more and more of them are beginning to recognize us out in pub...

Intentional Walk: July 2005
http://intentionalwalk.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 29, 2005. I Love Green Lantern. It's my blog, see? Today I played golf for only the third time all summer. I still can't figure out my new clubs (which I had to get because my old ones were stolen along with my car) and so I once again shot in the 100's. Yes, that was the temperature, ha ha, but it was also my score so leave me alone. I think my need to write about Green Lantern is obvious. Posted by Thurman8er @ 3:04 PM. Tuesday, July 26, 2005. The Prayer of Jehoshaphat. 2) Don't just pray&...
