Chris Gerhard's Blog. The in …— …. Walton Bridge Cycle links. September 2, 2014. Today I was interviewed by BBC Surrey about the new Cycle facilities that are being built leading to Walton Bridge. My objections to the scheme have not really changed from the time of the consultation. And I hope I articulated them clearly. One of the goals of the facilities is to reduce injuries amongst people on bikes. However when I spoke to the officers at the consultation they admitted they did not expect existing ...

In the migration the embeded images did not migrate so may still be being sourced from http:/ blogs.sun.com/chrisg. Also it appears that code fragments included did not import well. Generally all the new lines have been lost. I am fixing them as I find them which is slow going. If you find code segments that are corrupt let me know and I will fix it. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Ramblings of a PhD Student, Cook, Swimmer and Triathlete. Talks & Publications. Apêl Elain Half Marathon. The University Triathlon club that I am in has a regular spin session on a Thursday and our instructor, Bridget James, has been running thirteen half marathons in thirteen days during April to raise money for her charity Apêl Elain. But it was all in a good cause. I am aching quite a bit today, but I can’t even begin to imagine what Bridget must be feeling after thirteen days! Busy, busy, busy!

The Ramblings of a PhD Student, Cook, Swimmer and Triathlete. Talks & Publications. Author Archives: Michael Clarke. Busy, busy, busy! Not very many updates recently, it’s been a busy couple of months. I went to France for three weeks in August, had great fun and tried out scuba diving; I’m looking for local diving clubs in Aberystwyth to join as I’d like to qualify. As a software engineer, so far it’s all going well. I did the Bala Standard Distance Triathlon. Training starts. A bunch of people from...
Studded Flip Flops: Highland Fling 2013
http://studdedflipflops.blogspot.com/2013/05/highland-fling-2013.html
Tuesday, 7 May 2013. What madness is it that makes someone want to run 53 miles through Scotland in April? Well, let's see. How Did We Get Here? 4 years ago a work colleague, let's call him Clive. I won't bore you with the details, but I didn't feel ready for a 2011 attempt. I was ready for a go in 2012 but broke my ankle in the winter, so with a deferred place to the 2013 race, it was decided that this would be it. This has stuck with me since I read it in his blog and proved invaluable in the race.

Who in has abandoned Automated Acceptance tools because theyre not worth the cost. As he reported in February, in response to a question from Gojko Adzic. Bits, bytes, packets, scripts. A rant about computers, worlds, systems, and people. Michael Nygard on "Agile Operations in the Enterprise" (InfoQ). Has an excellent article on Agile Operations in the Enterprise. In the introduction, Nygard defines Agile Operations, and how they are all about the principles, not just tools or procedures. One paragraph in the intro stands out, as it addresses a major misconception about agile operations (or #devops):. Focus on the agile principles and automate everything.
Studded Flip Flops: I used to have a blog but I'm alright now
http://studdedflipflops.blogspot.com/2011/06/i-used-to-have-blog-but-im-alright-now.html
Tuesday, 14 June 2011. I used to have a blog but I'm alright now. I used to blog about running and other nonsensical stuff through my work blog, but a change of company policy means that those days are long-gone, so after a couple of years of being an idle blogger, I thought I'd get back on that horse. Why "Studded Flip Flops"? Anyway, I hope you'll forgive the rambling, this is as much for me to read when I'm old(er) and grey(er) as it is for anyone vaguely interested to read now. Location: Sheffield, UK.
Studded Flip Flops: February 2012
http://studdedflipflops.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, 12 February 2012. A cautionary tale for those of you who are out running on the hills in this wintery weather. I waited for it to start snowing last Saturday afternoon and set out on a 10-12 miler up over Totley Moor, White Edge Moor, with the aim of eventually heading on to Burbage and Houndkirk. I love this weather for running in and it was fantastic having your face cleansed by tiny bits of snow blown on a strong wind. I was following the footsteps of a walker over White Edge Moor. Janathon 20...

Bits, bytes, packets, scripts. A rant about computers, worlds, systems, and people. Devops' and 'open source' - I was there. Today I remembered that I was actually present in San José, at the 1997 Perl Conference, when Eric S. Raymond presented his fetchmail experiment in his talk/paper The Cathedral and the Bazaar. Which more or less introduced the term open source. This was quite a well attended conference with a couple of hundred people. 1 There's only so much you can do alone. 2 Increase your network.

Chris Gerhard's Blog. The in …— …. June 24, 2017. BREXIT, a year on. They have had time to do all this and in doing so have had time to reduce the anger and replace it with an acceptance that while we may still not be happy about the result, the country is in safe hands, EU citizens have nothing to fear and their plans show that the economic consequences will at least be minimally negative or even as they promised positive. However none of those things have happened. There is no chance of the negotiation...
