Mel, another VSO volunteer, and I arrived in Shulinab around 8pm after a very bumpy, nausea inducing two hour ride from Lethem. Like all villages in the area Shulinab has no electricity, with the happy exception of the local bar which has had the ingenuity to install a generator to keep the beers in the freezer cold!
