Just me, waffling on about knitting, crochet and life. August 12, 2016. WIP: Feelin’ Groovy and feelin’ fine. Posted by nicolaknits under crochet. I was at this stage, evening before last, when I had to stop. Base done, looking a bit wavy in places because it needs blocking. (I have a large glass jar which is the perfect size for blocking the bag over.). At the end of yesterday, this is where I left it. (Those sc2tog rounds were a b*tch to work into.). SO much easier on the hands. December 13, 2015.

Being vegan, and raising vegan kids, meant that going out trick or treating never really appealed that much. The one time we did it, we had to pull out a lot of the candy and give it away. And I am not going to buy crap that I wouldn’t feed to my own children just to hand it out at the door. Link, and here is the Red Heart. I’m ...

Just me, waffling on about knitting, crochet and life. September 11, 2016. WIP: Demelza Week Two. Posted by nicolaknits under crochet. Has four rectangular sections that will later be joined to all four sides of the centre square. These are pretty straightforward, being made up mostly of double crochets (trebles in the UK) plus some front post stitches to create the effect of flowers. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Happy crafting! September 5, 2016. WIP: Demelza (definitely not a Netflix project).

Just me, waffling on about knitting, crochet and life. August 14, 2015. Grandma’s Knickknacks – 46%. Posted by nicolaknits under crochet. It’s nice to be adding squares once more to the blanket. It’s still too hot to have a pile of yarn in my lap, but the first three rounds of each square are done first, then the fourth join-as-you-go round attaches it to the rest. Not too much overheating time. I have enough yarn to keep me going until the next sale! We are forecast to have rain tonight and many people ...

I actually have no Works in Progress now, but you know that won’t be the case for long.). I am not 100% convinced that the gold border was the right choice – maybe green or petrol would have looked better – but heck, it’s done now and I’m not ripping it out! So, what’s next for my hook? Just me, waffling on about knitting, crochet and life. July 29, 2015. Posted by nicolaknits under crochet. This is the easiest and quickest hat ever. I left the tail unwoven for the photo, to show you that I used almost every inch of the skein of yarn. This used one ball of Red Heart Vivid in Powerful Pink (50 yards/45 metres) and a 15mm crochet hook. I started with a magic loop, ch2, 9hdc into circle, ss into first hdc (9 sts). Diameter at this point was 7.5″. Follow Blog via Email. Click to email me.
