http://thesmithsinparis.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Thursday, February 17, 2011. Le Jour de la Saint-Valentin. The bag our pastry came in. The box our pastry was in.. The pastry I picked out! When Dustin got home from work, we exchanged cards and then used a sharpie to write our names on a padlock. There is a bridge in Paris, Pont des Arts, where couples have attached padlocks all over the bridge. There are HUNDREDS (maybe thousands? Right before we placed our lock on the bridge. Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Last weekend, Dusti...

La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Thursday, January 27, 2011. Embracing My Parisian Life. My last post ended with me admitting that I need to stop longing for home (as much) and start focusing on living it up here in Paris. And if I do say so myself, I think I have done a pretty good job over the last two weeks! There was a small plastic rose in this cake. You can read more about la galette des rois here: http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King cake. This new Parisian me is more relaxed, less worried about criticism f...

La Joie de Vivre à Paris: October 2011
http://thesmithsinparis.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Friday, October 28, 2011. Is it bad that the best part of my trip was George Clooney? Isn't it great when you get together with a friend you haven't seen in a long time and it feels like no time has passed? Alison's visit was just that.we started talking the second I picked her up at the airport, and we literally didn't stop until I dropped her back at the airport a week later. And were literally 4 feet from a vineyard. It felt like a movie! We checked out this church at the abs...

La Joie de Vivre à Paris: July 2011
http://thesmithsinparis.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Monday, July 4, 2011. Castles, Cows, and Champagne. What do castles, cows, and champagne all have in common? 65279; They all played a part in our fantastic weekend away! I knew that Dustin was taking me to the Champagne region last weekend, but I didn't know where we would be staying or exactly what we would be doing there. As we got closer and closer to our destination, I noticed that we were getting closer and closer to the middle of nowhere! After our blood pressure went down...

La Joie de Vivre à Paris: August 2011
http://thesmithsinparis.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Thursday, August 11, 2011. It's here. The dreaded 3-0. I really wasn't looking forward to this birthday. It just sounds old. I know those of you who are much older and wiser than me think I am being silly, but don't you agree that 30 sounds so much older than 29? My actual day of birth was all about eating. I think everyone's birthday should start with a. A croissant type pastry, filled with almonds and chocolate). Don't worry, it is not high in calories. For dinner we went to.

La Joie de Vivre à Paris: Musée d'Orsay
http://thesmithsinparis.blogspot.com/2012/03/musee-dorsay.html
La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Thursday, March 22, 2012. Some of my favorite artists have pieces in the Orsay - Monet, Manet, and Degas to name a few. I especially love Renoir's. Bal du Moulin de la Galette. Unfortunately, you can't take pictures inside of the museum (except for overarching shots from specific lookout points). Our attempt at a self portrait outside of the museum.. I love the clock! The view through the clocks at the top of the station is stunning! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Easter: ...

La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Friday, April 22, 2011. Maggie's Last Few Days in Paris. Once we got back from London, Maggie's last few days went really quickly. On one of her last nights, we went to a three course dinner. I was so proud of her, because she tried escargot and rabbit! Megan, Dustin, and me at dinner with Mags. On Maggie's last day, we decided to head up the Eiffel Tower. It was an awesome finale! We rewarded ourselves with ice cream after our trip up the tower. :). Friday, April 15, 2011.

La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Thursday, March 8, 2012. It's Been Entirely Too Long. Wow I can't believe nearly 3 months have passed since my last blog update. Starting NOW I am going to attempt to do a better job! I guess the first thing I need to do is catch everyone up on what has been going on with the Smiths. On November 1, 2011, Dustin and I found out we are expecting our first child! The baby is due July 8th. We were (and continue to be! Dustin hitting up the driving range (he was THRILLED that I took ...

La Joie de Vivre à Paris: One place I never imagined visiting...
http://thesmithsinparis.blogspot.com/2011/12/one-place-i-never-imagined-visiting.html
La Joie de Vivre à Paris. Monday, December 12, 2011. One place I never imagined visiting. All I knew about Budapest prior to our visit was that it was in Hungary, and that it had been under communist rule. And I had heard something about goulash. Budapest (which is actually made up of two cities, Buda and Pest) really surprised me. Until our visit, I had no idea that it is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. The Parliament Building on the river Danube. Megan came with us! My husband a...
