CoLDland: Laser cutting
http://chrisoldlandillustration.blogspot.com/2010/05/laser-cutting.html
Wednesday, 5 May 2010. Here's a picture of the work I recently completed for KPMG's new building in Canary Wharf. The piece was a challenge from start to finish. I first started work on the project in 2009 for the D&AD student awards and received in-book status. This led to a follow up pitch before the KPMG art committee at which I managed to secure a commission. This meant pushing the design even further and then getting the perspex cut and the fittings ordered. The whole experience has filled me with n...

CoLDland: Adrian Shaughnessy

Wednesday, 5 May 2010. I got to see Adrian Shaughnessy and Tony Brook's lecture at the printworks yesterday, a D&AD sponsored event that was partly engineered by staff at Stockport College. The lecture focussed on the launch of the pair's new publishing company, Unit Editions. Founded in 2009 they have set out to produce high-quality books about graphic design and visual arts in the way they want to, without the pressure of someone else telling them what to put in them. We talked about always leaving som...

Saturday, 1 May 2010. Pick Me Up at Somerset House. I had time to pop in and see the Contemporary Graphic Art Fair 'Pick Me Up' this week and it turned out to be a great exhibition containing a wide variety of prints, toys, fanzines and all sorts of other things being created and shown. Including an exclusive piece for the fair created by each of the artists present. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Studio or Sheltered, lonely existance? Pick Me Up at Somerset House. Friday, 2 March 2012. My daughter's room needed a little brightening up so this was done on a whim. It began as a simple layout as I was planning to paint it directly onto canvas. Obviously it went a little further than that! Labels: all my work. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I just made a new poster to be used at the universitys freshers fayres to recruit new players. I have decided to start to make a high poly model of the TNT push back tug from my work. I took some reference photos with my phone last night but should hopefully be getting some plans of it soon. Hopefully it shouldn’t take too long to complete. hopefully a week or two although I do have to move back home in that time. New look for Mavericks Site. I’m really chuffed. My score was 65.8%. I then received an ema...

Monday, August 9, 2010. Love: The Core of Humanity. Over the past couple of weeks, I've reflected on a couple topics: 1) What do I. In order to enjoy and find beauty in life? 2) As humans, who are we at our core? Some people enjoy life by having that particularly fast vehicle to give them an adrenaline rush or status, or living life in the club scene, or just physically looking the best. So what do I need in order to enjoy and find beauty in life? What brings you peace? Tuesday, April 13, 2010. I underst...

Blog = reinterpret cast (life);. Friday, 15 December 2017. I’ve used the lightning talks at the last two ACCU conferences. As a means of subjecting a captive audience to my dreadful array of programming / IT / geek one liners. (My previous two ACCU stand-up routines are published on this blog as “ The Daily Stand-Up. 8221; and “ Stand-Up and Deliver. Hence, here are the 34 one-liners I delivered under the title “Wit Limits” [1] at this year’s ACCU conference:. 8220;We’ve recently started using CRC...
