Chris Palmatier's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. July 2, 2009 in Adirondacks. I packed my backpack for the first time today. It’s heavy, and I haven’t packed clothes yet. I’ll probably make another pass to see what I can do without. Every ounce makes a difference. I’ll be going out for my first hike with the pack tomorrow if the weather cooperates. Chris Palmatier's Blog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. 8:38 Saturday morning and I’m at the trail head in Upper Benson. Northville is 13 miles away, down the hill, but no one really walks that section any more, it’s all road walking, and who wants to do that with a full pack. My car is 120 miles away in Lake Placid and Jack just drove away. I am alone in the woods. Boy, did I over pack. The rain let up and we got the fire going again before dark. The guys have to make 20 miles tomorrow to get bac...
