The Furious Scribblings of Chris Pramas. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Horus Heresy: Choosing a Legion. August 10, 2016. For the last couple of years, I had been planning to do the Alpha Legion. I like their backstory and iconography, and their Rites of War gives them some cool options. I may go ahead with that but I’m doing my due diligence and looking at other options. These are the other legions I’m considering:. The galaxy hangs in the balance! May 25, 2016. The Furious Scribblings of Chris Pramas. Skip to primary content. RPG a Day, Part 1. August 10, 2014. David Chapman started a thing on his blog called RPG a Day. It’s basically an excuse to talk about RPGs so, hey, let’s do that. August is my busiest month of the year, with GenCon and PAX happening. I’m thus going to do this in two parts instead of daily. Part 1 will take me through GenCon. 1st – First RPG Played:. Dungeons and Dragons. This was 1979 and I was 10 years old. That’s an easy one: Pend...

The Furious Scribblings of Chris Pramas. Skip to primary content. Our Future is not Star Trek. February 27, 2015. But in many ways we are living the future imagined by science fiction in the 1960s. Well, there’s always money for those. How would you feel if a group of people who had never had a hungry day in their lives decided to cut off the food assistance that let you feed your family? How would you feel if the police routinely stopped and harassed you because of your skin color? Even in the Star Trek...

Getting Sinister in Saltmarsh, Pt. 2. Feb 17th, 2012 11:55 am. The Members "Solitary Confinement". Once again, this post contains spoilers for Sinister Secret of Salt Marsh. Stop reading now if you intend to play it one day. We ended the session there. Next time they have to dicker with the council about the fate of the ship they captured, and then decide on a course of action. Are the lizardmen a threat to Saltmash? If so, what’s to be done about it? And what’s up with those frogs in the park? The modul...

Not Quite a Talking Head. Mar 9th, 2012 01:31 am. Stiff Little Fingers "Nobody's Hero". This week I talked to a guest coordinator from a morning talk show on the Lifetime channel. She was interested in having me come on the show to talk about roleplaying games and DC Adventures in particular. How did this unlikely event transpire? Is the money a problem? Looks like TV isnt ready for me yet. Ill have to start with YouTube. Oct 26th, 2011 12:10 am. The Damned "Neat Neat Neat". Its official: I have joined K...
Rolled a One: Wow, someone read this
http://rolledaone.blogspot.com/2009/06/wow-someone-read-this.html
Wow, someone read this. I've been poked out of silence by the discovery (thanks to a comment) that someone actually read my posts. Not surprisingly, the realization that I have an audience greater than one (me) is a motivator to continue where I left off. Just a quick update – I did finally get the Rise of the Runelords. Campaign underway and we have finished #1. Usually this would just be the section of the adventure where the PCs level up to face the climactic encounter. In. This is some really great s...
Rolled a One: 2011-04
http://rolledaone.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
We found signs of a battle, but more scarily, two scaley finned humanoids who smelled bad and seemed unhappy to see us. After a short, running fight through the dark woods, we managed to kill one of the creatures and the other ran off. Not finding any sign of any buried treasure, we returned to the hamlet and took the taxes back to my PC's uncle. Fun stuff, and we'll see where it goes from here. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Rolled a One: 2009-07
http://rolledaone.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Reflections on Burnt Offerings. It took us a long time to get through Burnt Offerings, for the usual reasons. Scheduling issues, mostly, with some long breaks as players were sent out of town for various reasons. I found the adventure ran very smoothly, with minimal railroading. The actual structure of the adventure helped a lot. The first half has the PCs in reaction mode, and the second half does a good job helping to transition them into being active without being too obvious about it. Mustered out of...

As always, plenty of spoilers for the Pathfinder Adventure Path: Rise of the Runelords follow. Pathfinder #2: The Skinsaw Murders. The Skinsaw Man portion of the adventure was my favorite part, likely because it built on events in. And was set around Sandpoint. After all the work making Sandpoint feel like a real community in. Has pretty much an automatic hit with her melee attack ( 20? We're on a break right now, as sailing schedules and re-life intrudes, but will pick up the game in November with the.

http://rolledaone.blogspot.com/2013/12/time-for-another-update.html
Dark Heresy - Campaign Continues. Time for another update. things have been messed up since I've been staying away from the computer the last month or so. Dark Heresy continues. The group, with folks popping in and out, finished up Illumination. The intro scenario in the core rulebook). Some spoilers follow. My players really liked the way I described the setting and the NPCs seemed fairly memorable. Myself, I like that the starting scenario had a bit of combat, a bit of mystery, and wasn't too hard ...
Rolled a One: Thoughts on the Grauls
http://rolledaone.blogspot.com/2010/05/thoughts-on-grauls.html
Thoughts on the Grauls. I've seen it mentioned on the Paizo forums that the Graul homestead encounters would likely have be presented as optional, if they had though to do that in the first few Adventure Paths. The thinking apparently being that the Grauls are a sideline from the main adventure through-line of "rescue Fort Rannick, save the dam, defeat Barl Breakbones". Myself, I disagree with this, based on my play. Feel of the Graul, I suspect that the appearance of such grotesques would be very jarring.

The Furious Scribblings of Chris Pramas. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. My Disappointment with Dunkirk. July 25, 2017. Operation Dynamo – men wait in an orderly fashion for their turn to be rescued. Dunkirk hot take: if you want Churchillian propaganda writ large, you’ll like it. If you want something that resembles history, skip it. Many of these friends also saw the movie and found it well-crafted and emotional. Some pointed out an article. Beware, spoilers follow!
