Saturday, 22 September 2007. Day 7 - Beuil to Vence. Then all that was left was a 10 mile blast down into Vence and into my bright yellow bed for a snooze. So, that's it for another year. Stats for the day:. Average: a downhill 14.8 mph. 14 miles down this lovely gorge at 30 mph, awesome:. Friday, 21 September 2007. Random musings and other stuff. Just some random bits and pieces from the last few days, in order of highest tedium first:. 2) Communications - even in the smallest villages and up the Cols t...

L'Etape 2008: Dustman Daves Demon Hilly

Ventoux 2007: Bummer
http://nastyhills.blogspot.com/2007/09/bummer.html
Sunday, 16 September 2007. Vence to Comps Sur Artuby. Intended distance 53.3 miles. My distance on bike 46.3 miles. My distance in van 7 miles. Today was billed as a gentle introduction to the Alps and for the first 8 miles it was, gently freewheeling down the valley and across the bottom of a gorge. Alas what goes down must go up and for the next 12 miles we climbed up again the other side and with the day getting ever warmer I soon had sweat dripping in my eyes, ears and all sorts of other places.
