Monday, September 14, 2009. An Argument Against Marriage and Family. It almost goes without saying that much of the Christian church today supports the sanctity of marriage. Being a married man, I'd have to say that this is a good thing, and I believe in the most worldly of people can see intrinsic value in the mutual love of one another more than one's self. Marriage can be a beautiful thing, and often depicts a picture of God's love for his people. 8211; Genesis 1:28. God blessed them and said, "Be fru...

Christianity 2.0: Rules and Regulations

http://www.christianitytwopointzero.blogspot.com/2009/02/rules-and-regulations.html

Friday, February 13, 2009. I've found myself bucking the system lately.  This system is one comprised of rules and laws and endless stream of tradition.  This system is the "church" as we know it.  This system isn't working. I've discovered that these two gifts of God can easily get me into trouble. So I have prayed for God's wisdom as well. It doesn't help to feel and see, if you don't know what to do! Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. I tire of that world. I hate that life. Bingo...

Christianity 2.0: Pearls

http://www.christianitytwopointzero.blogspot.com/2009/01/pearls.html

Friday, January 9, 2009. It's been a while since I've written on this blog.  This is due partially to the holidays and writing on my other blog - The Deep Forest. 160;So, apologies to those who have been wondering where all the wonderful content has gone.  Luckily for me, there are about four of you.  So without further ado I bring you a new insight. Although it is not required reading. This is an interesting point that he brings up about what life is exactly.  Outside of breathing, eating, and ...160;Th...

Christianity 2.0: The Trouble with Transparency

http://www.christianitytwopointzero.blogspot.com/2009/01/trouble-with-transparency.html

Monday, January 26, 2009. The Trouble with Transparency. I'm not sure if I'm alone in this department or not.  One thing I know, is that I prayed from my spirit that my heart would be "true".  I've discovered now that this means an alignment of what I feel and how I act.  The trouble is that this is harder to do than it seems! 160;Sometimes we feel incredibly upset at someone and want to lash out at them.  Do we repress those feelings? 160;What if we hurt people? How do we handle them? 160;Our message ca...

Christianity 2.0: Learning To Love Perfectly

http://www.christianitytwopointzero.blogspot.com/2009/02/learning-to-love-perfectly.html

Monday, February 2, 2009. Learning To Love Perfectly. We all desire love. We are all capable of love. There is an order to perfect love. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: "Love your neighbor as yourself." There is no commandment greater than these. – Mark 12:30-31. We have to love God first. With all our heart. The kind of love where you just want to seek after that person? I think it's important to not...

Laughing at the Moon: Downpour

http://nean-laughingatthemoon.blogspot.com/2011/03/downpour.html

The drops shatter silence,. And maybe even glass,. Pounding against the pane. As she walks,. Unhurried as it falls,. In puddle-soaked glistening soles. From the patterns relieved by her heels. The myriad drops,. One solitary tear gains weight. 3/10/11, 9:09 PM. LOVE this. one of your best. 3/10/11, 9:52 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Woman In The Moon. Laughing at the Moon: Flash Fiction Friday: "A Whole Life in One Day"

Flash Fiction Friday: "A Whole Life in One Day". They barely knew each other, even after watching each other from afar for years. And now, he studied her. Up close. Personal. From only inches away. One day, by chance, had brought them here. When I look at you, I see forever.". He watched his whispered words wrap around her, his warm breath causing a shivered smile to tease her face and his heart, embracing them both in eternity. Labels: Flash Fiction Friday. Laughing at the Moon: June 2010

http://nean-laughingatthemoon.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Sometimes we find things in the most unexpected places . I pulled the title for this blog post out of a variety of conversations I was following (more lurking to be honest) among my friends on Twitter. One friend mentioned that the fireflies were lovely. Another small group of my friends were discussing the merits of Autumn as a season, particularly since this week's been full of the usual summer mugginess of South-Central PA. I think they were pining for cooler weather. The image of fireflies in autumn ...

Laughing at the Moon: August 2010

http://nean-laughingatthemoon.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

There and Back Again. So, in between the actual busy-ness of several huge transitions in my life, and the fact that I've needed to guard privacy of both myself and others around me, I've become less frequent here. I've been posting more newsy type stuff on our family blog and less artsy stuff here. Someday I'll get back to the art. Right now, life is in the way. Pounds within me on my skull. Followed by this quiet sinking. Through sentimental filters of my soul. My fear defines the purpose. Multifarious ...

Laughing at the Moon: March 2011

http://nean-laughingatthemoon.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

I've been toying with a phrase for the past couple weeks. Something of a "melancholic relief" has settled on me. I've been really struggling with several major pieces of who I am since the year began. Several things in my life have changed and several more are yet to change. Change is good, right? So, it's melancholy. I look at what I'm losing, knowing I may never have it again - at least not in the same way. But it's relief. It's best for me and my immediate family. It's necessary. I...This thing we are.

http://nean-laughingatthemoon.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

But especially not you. Not in the night. I woke this morning. With the awareness of you. Your arms around me. Your breath on my neck. Your heart beating in mine. Deep in the center of all that I am. You run deep through my veins. Mingling in warm blood. Quenching my withering thirst. The basis of all that I am. Through life and death. In me and through me. And all that I am. We see him ageless now, but ancient,. With senility assumed,. Because we skulk around. Behind his back in alleged secrecy,. Shouti...

And Sometimes It Works. Every once in a while I hit a block. Something where I need to write. I feel the burn of something deep inside, begging for the light of the computer screen. And sometimes I don't know where to start. You can decide which and tell me in the comments, if you wanna. As he stepped through. The hole in the air. Replay against a pitch. I prop me up. Beside the juke box. And begin to stare him down. Of a not-so- sexy fart. By this morning's breakfast:. He shakes his head,. It covers me,.

The Colors of the Wind. My son's art lesson this week was on the use of colors in poetry. I was thrilled, and the song. From Disney's Pocahontas kept playing in my mind (an environmentally/socially conscious poet's anthem*). I don't want my child to see the world in black and white. I want him to see all the colors in the wind and all the shades of grey in the rainbow. So, here is his color poem. I will leave spelling errors in tact, to preserve poetic (and 6yo) integrity. Red on my bed,. Blue on my shoe,.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.". Bible Verse Of The Day. Project 2: Prayers for Our Husband. Monday, August 13, 2012. Here's a stray thought. It's effortless for me to think of ways that my life could be worse. Am I a pessimist, because of my inventiveness in imagining worse worlds? Or am I an optimist, because all those worlds are worse than the one I'm in? It could also be much better? God's just rule is deferred.
