Wishing I was in Maui, but dealing with being here. Archive for December, 2011. This sums it up! It was a cold…………. Sunday, even though it was sunny. Just the kind of day to stay in and knit. DH and I don’t do much to decorate for Christmas in our house so I didn’t have to spend time doing that. We do put up lights in the front window and I have two things that I put out every year, a small pine cone tree and a Father Christmas. The pattern for the mitts is Barista Mitts. Hoping you all have a great week.

Olive Cheese Bread by Ree Drummond. 1 loaf French Bread. 6 ounces, weight Pimiento-stuffed Green Olives. 6 ounces, weight Black Olives. 2 stalks Green Onions (scallions). 1 stick Butter, Room Temperature. Pounds Monterey Jack Cheese, Grated. Roughly chop both black olives and pimiento-stuffed green olives. Slice green onions into thin pieces. Mixture can also be refrigerated (up to two days) and used as a dip. Great with crackers. 2 eggs (slighty beaten).

On the way back we stopped for Happy Hour at The Cliff House on West Marine Blvd , just about 1/2 mile from the house. Nice HH menu. A couple of beers, a plate of antipaste and some fried calamari and I don’t have to cook dinner tonight! Great views of Mount Rainier and the channel that leads to the docks.
