Friday, May 27, 2011. How Do You Know When You've Found Your Voice? There’s a lot about writing that seems almost mystical – to people who don’t write, and even to those of us breathing in this damn, frustrating, lovely, mind-sucking, hole of death what we call writing. Can you hear my voice? But what you’re saying seems beside the point when you’re talking about voice, right? Remember when you were in high school? That kid. The one who wanted to be someone special, but didn’t know quite how to...Yeah, w...

Redemption Road: February 2013
http://happycat7.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 21, 2013. I always had one – loose leaf, spiral bound, whatever color suited my fancy when the last page of my previous journal was filled. Of course, this was before you had phones that were basically little computers. Back when handwriting was what you did to get the idea down somewhere until you could get to your computer. Me: Hey, I left your work on your bed. But that notebook is mine. You didn’t read it, did you? Me: No. That’s yours. The notebook’s mine. Links to this post.

A Conscious Mom: Happy Hol... err...Chris...err...Oh, forget it.
http://aconsciousmom.blogspot.com/2010/12/happy-hol-errchriserroh-forget-it.html
Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw. Monday, December 13, 2010. Happy Hol. err.Chris.err.Oh, forget it. I received a sales add in my e-mail today offering a dictionary of politically correct terms. I thought, "wow. There is a need for an entire dictionary! Plus it seems that being politically correct is only okay when it works for the one trying to enforce it. Like this whole Holiday vs. Christmas thing. So, I don't feel it's taking Christ out of Chr...

A Conscious Mom: The Truth Always Haunts
http://aconsciousmom.blogspot.com/2010/11/truth-always-haunts.html
Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw. Saturday, November 20, 2010. The Truth Always Haunts. The Truth always haunts. Someone posted this on Facebook a little while ago, and it has stuck with me ever since. Curious. Such a simple statement, I found it incredibly profound. How the truth always haunts. But why? Okay, you messed up. So have I. A lot. So what? We all make mistakes don't we? Isn't that part of the point? We teach our children that making mi...

Wildflower Writes: Joy in Chaos
http://wildflowerwrites.blogspot.com/2013/12/joy-in-chaos.html
Monday, December 23, 2013. Have I already said I hate shopping? I hate crowds, noise, waiting in line. When shopping for gifts, I'm never confident that I'm choosing something that would be useful or appreciated. I get lost in large stores and can't remember where the departments are. I don't like driving, traffic, parking, or dodging cars in the lot. In my devotions this morning, I read Paul's letter to the Philippians. At the time he writes it, he is in prison. Talk about chaos! But I felt I had to giv...

Sunday, June 20, 2010. Beautiful Things Happen When a Woman Trusts God by Sheila Walsh. Even as a lifelong Christian, Sheila Walsh struggled to trust God completely. It took a complete emotional breakdown for her to address the fear and shame that had kept her from making a final step of faith so that she could live completely for God. Even then, as her Biblical profiles exemplify, faith involves a moment-by-moment commitment to believing in God's provision. Links to this post. Just a little more. Or are...

Wildflower Writes: November 2011
http://wildflowerwrites.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 16, 2011. I just returned from a fantastic weekend getaway. Luxury hotel, deluxe shopping mall within walking distance, and beautiful weather. Lots of rest and relaxation with a break from "momdom.". Monday morning it was back to the real world- to an annoying alarm at 6:00 AM, to children who would rather stay in bed than get ready for school, and a fresh load of laundry. Back to "life," right? Wildflower Writes: Joy in Children
http://wildflowerwrites.blogspot.com/2013/12/joy-in-children.html
Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Christmas eve. gifts are wrapped (mostly). Treats have been made and sampled. THE gift is put together and ready to play with. I'm ready for Christmas. My kids have floored me with their generosity this year. Of course we encourage the attribute, but let's face it.generally speaking, kids tend to be selfish- "what's in it for me? As Toby Mac says in his song, Christmas this Year. God bless us, every one. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a Christian, a mother, a writer,...

Wildflower Writes: Joy in Opposition
http://wildflowerwrites.blogspot.com/2013/12/joy-in-opposition.html
Saturday, December 28, 2013. Sometimes, I think I know how my life is supposed to go. I think of Micah 6:8. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Follow the rules, keep my nose clean, and God will bless me, right? It's hard enough for me keep my commitments, be a good steward, and maintain good relationships with my family members, let alone anything else God might call me to. According to Joyce Meyer.
