December 8, 2015. Spotlight: Phil Ferguson’s Crocheted Hats. After months of absence, I finally came across something that warmed my chilly heart enough to share on this here blog. Phil Ferguson. A Melbourne-based artist has been crocheting hats and posting them on his Instagram. For about a year and a half now, a project that I hope will never end. Mostly food based with the occasional object sprinkled in, his giant food hats frame his serious mustached face so perfectly. Phil Ferguson, thank you. With ...

February 17, 2015. This time I’m trying to do it a little more smartly. Choosing lighter furniture options and downsizing to the best of my ability. And a bonus – I get to paint! In the past, I’ve been stuck with painting limitations, mainly making it work with darker color schemes and minimal decor like here. But now, times have changed and this girl wants something cheery to come home to! What do you think? June 9, 2013. And a couple of prints from Annie Wu. It’s going to be a work in progress. Lastly,...

December 12, 2015. The Drawings of Nimura Daisuke. I recently stumbled across the drawings and gifs of Nimura Daisuke. And fell in love. So simple. So charming. As a cartoonist myself, I find myself getting caught up too much in unnecessary details and seeing work like Daisuke’s reminds me that simplicity can still be so powerful. I want to know every couple’s story in his drawings. They’re all so relatable yet so mysterious, like a Japanese version of Chris Ware. August 16, 2015. December 14, 2014.

April 27, 2015. It took me a long time to fall in love with VSCO. After multiple attempts at downloading and trying, I kept finding myself seeing the icon on my phone and realizing that I hadn’t opened it in months. My go to editing app has always been Afterlight. And it seemed like VSCO didn’t have much more to offer to me that Afterlight didn’t already provide. I was a one app girl, and that one app for me wasn’t VSCO. About a week ago, though,. December 14, 2014. A lot has been going on personally for me lately: a change in city, a change in job, and some much needed time to recharge. While that doesn’t make very interesting blogging (at least not yet), I’ve had some time to think, pick up some winter projects, and hopefully post more frequently than I have been in the last couple of months. But it’s been over four years and I still think of Tharp from time to time. He and Aurel Schmidt. I recently watched a studio visit with him. Warning: fsoc...
