Thursday, January 9, 2014. Purple daikon radish microgreens. I have some extra purple daikon radish shoots ready for harvest right now so I thought I'd package them up and offer them to everyone here on Mayne Island.I'd like to start up the idea of a once-in-a-while special that I offer when I try growing new varieties or try new ideas for mixes.so why not start now with these purply beauties? These are the purple-coloured microgreens that are in the shoot salad mix. And I love 'em! Doesn't it look good?

What a great book, full of ideas to help us develop our self-awareness and encourage us to embrace our vulnerability in order to live a more courageous and authentic life.and so therefore, a happier life. Sunday, May 26, 2013. I took a little time to stop and smell the roses a couple days ago and made this quicky rose bouquet just for me. A mini rose vine in a vase, bringing the garden into the house for a little indoor beauty and aromatherapy. such a joy! Has just started getting her bloom on in the garden and I'm loving it. Saturday, August 20, 2011. He'd been to the Farmer's Market but there was no mint there. Those days, I didn't sell at the market much but someone there had told him that he could see if I had some mint, so that's how he ended up in the garden. Luckily, I had lots of mint for him. Yay! I also sell little mint transplants in the springtime, for those with home gardens who want to grow their own. Andy is a botanist and Research Ecologist with the Ministry of Forests, Land and Natural Resources and co-author of the much referred to Plants of Coastal British Columbia. He has studied a wide range of topics, including native plants, fungi, and forest ecology.
