Tuesday, September 29, 2009. In the first week I went to the Social Sciences Conference . Most of my time was spent promoting GIS However I did go on a field trip to Ripapa Island. Bubbles from the stagnant pond. Thursday, December 14, 2006. Catch of the day. Tuesday was Junior School fishing day at Wellesley. We duly went along to the Days Bay Wharf and Pierre set himself up and decided to drop the line over while we waited for the boys. Within minutes he had a decent sized spotty and we were fearful that that would be our lot for the day and Chalres would miss out. How wrong we were! Charles watched as those around in pulled up small spotties (10 - 15 cm). 5 years is a long time.

Thursday, January 08, 2009. I 'm not sure why but it has seemed like a summer as I remember from childhood - maybe getting older! Today's expedition was to the library and Strand play ground. Followed by lunch in Ruth's front garden. Just returned from a swim in the river - biked there and back. Merewyn and Josh's trip.

Noises off - creak of door, pad of small feet belonging to Child. C: I can't sleep. M: Do you need to go to the toilet? M: Come on then. C and M exit. A long time passes. Thursday, March 29, 2007. Both Isabelle and Aidan are fairly good with their words, making only a few errors in pronunciation. For some reason, Aidan sometimes says "sh" rather than "s" (which makes reading Hairy Maclarey Sit. Wednesday, January 31, 2007. Orla is three weeks old today and was 2.95 kilos at her last weigh-in on Monday. It feels as though she is emerging from prematurity into newborn-ness. We no longer have to time her feeds during the day (nor at night, providing that there is no more than 4 hours between feeds of course Orla has been waking through the night at 3 hours on the dot!
