June 14, 2014. Just like my fellow student. Rebekah, I had every intention of blogging throughout my Prac. experience but the whole experience was so very busy that I did not have many opportunities to do so. Like Rebekah, I did have a very positive Prac. experience. Here are some dot points on why. I had a like minded teacher/mentor. My mentor was generous with her time; showing me how to use the ICTs. My mentor provided me with ample opportunities to independently teach. Here is an article.

June 14, 2014. It was reassuring to discover on my Prac. that nineteen years in child care came in handy. The teacher often commented on how well I did in this area. I guess getting a group of three years olds into a group is a lot trickier then getting Preps. into a group. Golden oldies that worked. Using ICTs in the classroom was a very rewarding experience. There were often times I thought, “I wish I had this style of learning when I was a child.” My own experiences of school was that it was quite boring. Students are now interacting with ICTs in the following ways to create engaging curriculums:. EDC3100 ICT and Pedagogy. EDC3100 ICT and Pedagogy. My 3 week Professional Experience went by incredibly fast. I am so thankful for the opportunity to create new lesson plans incorporating ICT and teaching them! I had a wonderful positive and inspirational mentor teacher who gave me encouraging feedback on my strengths and feedback on what I need to work on next. I learn the most by putting my ideas and teaching lessons into practice, I have learnt many new ideas and strategies and have been extended.

Learning- A social experience. June 14, 2014. I am a Vygotsky admirer. Often my report card would state, “Christine would do better in her learning if she did not socialize as much.” Vygotsky’s theory supports the notion that socializing is a part of learning. There is so much to be gained from this style of learning. Students can:. Build on each others ideas, constructing a new meaning. Make meanings that are relevant to their social context.
