Another lesson we learn from the New York race is that a third party is not the way to go." She is wrong. The lesson here is that Republicans play politics just as well as the Democrats: If the 5 percent of Scozzafava voters, probably largely early absentee voters, had split mostly for Doug Hoffman, he would have won. The. Was the spoiler, not the third party! It's ridicu...

online Condorcet polls? - Voting Reform
http://voting-reform.livejournal.com/13355.html
Mon, Aug. 18th, 2008, 11:40 am. Does anyone know of a site that you can host (free) polls using alternative voting methods like Condorcet? The only ones I ever see are simple plurality polls. Mon, Aug. 18th, 2008 05:51 pm (UTC). Condorcet Internet Voting Service (CIVS) at Cornell lets you set up any sort of Condorcet poll you want. The voting interface is a little unnatural feeling, though it's a challenge to do better with simple HTML, but it also gives nice detail for the results. 9786; Thank you!

*sigh* - Voting Reform
http://voting-reform.livejournal.com/12809.html
Fri, Oct. 12th, 2007, 01:50 pm. So I write a letter to the editor in response to a columnist that was promoting the unite-behind-my-candidate-so-the-Evil-Ot. Her-Side-doesn't-win view. My intro was along the lines of the immorality of persuading others to be dishonest with their votes—it's one thing to promote a candidate on his merits, another to sow fear and dread as a mean to an end. Sun, Oct. 14th, 2007 04:19 pm (UTC). What was the word count? Mon, Oct. 22nd, 2007 01:27 pm (UTC). However, they do pri...

In case you LJ diehards have not made it over there yet, let me suggest a few communities I've found there: American Constitution. A different Constitution Party. Page; Declaration of Independence. Founders, Religion, and Government. If you know of any others you'd recommend, please post them! Post a new comment.

Tue, Dec. 26th, 2006, 10:28 am. Bartlett missed a simple yet key point. Anyone besides me think that Bartlett. Tue, Dec. 26th, 2006 05:35 pm (UTC). Did he miss something? It's hard to tell what he missed, and what he consciously chose to ignore:. That he's writing for the Moonies rather than a real newspaper. That even a wrongheaded political party can be changed from within, without leaving. That sane modern voting reform can allow alternative parties to win national elections. Just the simple fact that...

GOP cowards: constitutionals

I hope the GOP faithful sit up and take notice of this. The front-runners are all frauds, and are deathly afraid of being exposed in front of social conservatives because the GOP can't win without that bloc. Post a new comment. Bringing Smiles To Faces Since 1972. Nov 7th, 2006 at 11:42 AM. Don't forget that in the US, today is Election Day. Make your voice be heard. Go vote. Some of them from voting! S Elect...
