Chaos at the Dog Show | christywrites

https://christymorrison.wordpress.com/2013/02/15/chaos-at-the-dog-show

And writes and writes and writes. Bad for Business (short story) →. Chaos at the Dog Show. February 15, 2013. I originally wrote this short story as a submission for a column to appear in a pet enthusiast magazine, but this magazine does not print stories relating to dog shows (I honestly didn’t even think about that), so I’m posting it here. Obviously, I’m crazy about my dogs, and we all just watched the Westminster Dog Show together (Zip, in particular. Watching dogs on tv). So here’s the story! He yip...

Trivial Things (Poem) | christywrites

https://christymorrison.wordpress.com/2013/01/11/trivial-things-poem

And writes and writes and writes. Chaos at the Dog Show →. January 11, 2013. Piles of boxes line each wall. A precarious mess, that threaten to fall. Stacks upon stacks of trivial things. Oh, the weighty trouble these boxes bring. Picking my way, so carefully treading. Stepping and stirring, unaware of where I’m heading. These boxes impede and mislead; I despair. I plead to be freed of the cell that we share. The dust takes hold and obstructs my breath. These piles won’t be my last sight before death.

And writes and writes and writes. Newer posts →. October 23, 2012. Zip and Rascal, tired out from being up to no good. These boys, they chase me. They romp and race me. And these boys, they drive me. Out of my mind. These boys, they cuddle. They poop and they puddle. And these boys, they sneak. And attack from behind. They know sit and come. But when called they play dumb. They leave hair everywhere. As do I, to be fair). Unless I say Play. They tunnel and dash. They eat up the trash. And run out the door.

And writes and writes and writes. Bad for Business (short story). November 6, 2014. I wrote this short story originally for a flash fiction contest. The prompt was to write a story under 1,000 words about receiving disturbing news from a fortune teller. My story ended up tying for first place! Here’s the short story, Bad for Business:. I eyed the couch. 8220;Should I lie down? 8221; I said. I sat on the couch and drummed my fingers against the leather. “So… how does this normally go? How do I start?

http://bananacopenhagen.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 20, 2011. New Advice from Cassidy. The latest advice from my 5-year-old niece:. Your jeans have a hole in them! Cassidy: How did you get that? Me: I bought them with the hole. I didn't know they had a hole when I bought them. Isn't that silly? Cassidy (laughing): YES. That's so silly! Me: Seriously, though, listen to me. Never buy jeans with holes in them. Me: No - really. http://bananacopenhagen.blogspot.com/2011/04/april-national-poetry-month.html

Thursday, April 7, 2011. April - National Poetry Month. I had no idea! April is NATIONAL POETRY MONTH. This is very exciting for me, as I've been putting some poetry on my writing (secret) blog. And Just last night I was thinking about my favorite poet, the mystery of a man that was Edgar Allan Poe. I know, he's a weird choice, but he's so quirky and strange and wrote such great, creepy stories! Here are some bits of his poetry, some of the ones I love. I was a child and she was a child,. Not rhyming, bu...

Let me entertain you. Do a few tricks. But it's Morton who almost steals the spotlight with her sultry showstopper, “Waiting,” at the end of Act One. After drinking a dark-truth serum, Alice transforms from a Little Mary Sunshine type into a desperate housewife in a noir-dingy bar.". Paul Wozniak, Lansing City Pulse. Christy Morton is so likable as Grandma that you can almost forgive the rather tacky humor the character is used for by the writers.". Tim Smith, The Baltimore Sun. A TIME TO BE BORN. John M...
